LEILA’S POV
As I made my way away from the stage, I felt a burning sensation behind my neck. I tried to ignore it, but the stare was quite intense, and I ended up turning, expecting to meet Alaric’s but meeting Lady Diane’s instead.
The edge of her lips tilted into a condescending smirk, her eyes filled with mockery, and I huffed, rage burning inside me as I spun on my heel and bolted out of there.
The ceremony began in full swing, with Alaric and Lady Diane sitting on top of the stage, followed by Beta Hugo and Winnie, whose gaze kept meeting mine every five seconds. She looked eager to be by my side, but I shook my head at her, telling her to enjoy herself, and then the next set of people were the Alpha, Alaric's father, and Luna Gloria.
The Alpha passed me a warm smil
