CHAPTER 28
LEILA’S POV
Deep in my unconscious state, I could feel that something was wrong. The atmosphere changed, the hair at the back of my neck stood at alert, and my heart pounded faster against my rib cage.
Then I felt a presence behind me; what followed was fingers trailing my cheek. I jumped, scurrying away from whoever was in my bedroom. My chest rose and fell heavily as my vision struggled to make out the being in my bedroom. My disorientation made it harder. Then the scent hit me—nature, woodsy, and all male.
My body reacted to it. My heart slowed and picked up again, but for a completely different reason this time around. The space between my legs throbbed, and different sensual images flooded my mind until my cries of pain replaced them.
