Leaving the last of the donuts for Nate to finish, Morgan gathered her cat in her arms and left the office. She hadn’t taken more than two steps after closing the door when the same woman she’d bumped into earlier stopped her.
"I thought I said the cat didn"t belong in our office." The woman waited for Morgan to answer and frowned when Morgan ignored her. "Is there something I can do for you?"
Morgan had to bite her lip to keep from bursting out with the words she really wanted to say. She looked over at Jill, who was watching the exchange with her eyebrows raised, and instead tried to be cordial.
"No, I"m fine, thank you, and I apologize for Misty upsetting you. I just dropped off some donuts for Nate and Jenny. There"s some left, so you"re welcome to them."
