Gia’s POV
“Gia Shaw”
I stand up and walk over to man at the in hall. He’s a tall man, probably 6’3. Black hair in a faded cut, dark blue eyes. He would be intimidating to anyone else, with my training, not much frightens me. I reach out to shake his hand. “Hello I’m Gia”
“Please come this way.”
I follow him down the hall to a door on the right. I notice the security outside the room and metal detector along the door frame. At the very top of the door I spot some herbs and crystals. I know I need to come clean before I walk through the door.
“Umm.. sir?”
“Please call me Blake.”
“Blake, I need to take my necklace off and it will change my appearance some. I wear it for my protection.”
“Please go ahead.”
I removed my necklace and place it in my bag. I feel my hair instantly poof out. Blake is staring at me oddly and without a word opens the door to the room. He holds his hand out guiding me to go first. As I soon as I step in Stella starts howling again, this time with desire.
“Stella what’s going on?”
“Mate is near”
Mate? Did she say mate?
“Gia, please have a seat.” Blake is walking around his desk to sit himself. I hand him my portfolio and I take a seat on the other side. There’s two other seats on his side of the room and I wonder if more people are coming.
“So Gia, are you from this area?”
I know this man is a werewolf, the receptionist was human. I know I should be guarded in what I say but they need to trust me in order to get this job. I look around the the room it’s lit nicely but over all the room is pretty bare.
“I live about an hour an a half away, in Willow moon territory.”
Blake watches my face and body language as I talk. He’s reading everything.
“Willow Moon, you say? With the Royals?”
That’s everyone’s first impression when they hear Willow Moon.
“Yes the very same.”
Blake watches a moment longer before going back to reading my portfolio. I look around the room again and spot a mirror to the side.
“Do you have two way mirrors in all your rooms?” I ask
Blake follows my line of vision and chuckles “honestly that just a test, we have a lot people come through through here claiming to be a sniper or hunter, but they can’t even spot a two way mirror. Very few people so boldly point it out.”
“My training has taught me to be bold”
“Your training is very extensive, I’m impressed.”
I watch as Blake continues to read my portfolio. There’s a small camera in the lamp on the desk. I wonder is this is being fed back to the others who will be joining us.
“Your training seems to be outstanding but have you ever worked in the field?”
Blake’s question breaks me from my thoughts.
“No, I haven’t. I would assume yourself and whoever is on the other side of the camera fed will be showing me the ropes?”
Blake glances down and gives a small laugh. His eyes glaze over. “Please excuse me, I’ll be right back” he stands and leaves the room.
I stand up and walk around the room I decide to use a little of my powers, just as a precaution. I can sense at least three more humans nearby, four werewolves, and another supernatural being I can’t quite figure out when Stella comes forward with a force.
“Mate”
“Stella, help me out here. What are you talking about?”
Just as I hear her starting to answer my senses are taken over. The most glorious smell, maple it seems floods my nose.
Stella is screaming in my head and this point. Just as the door opens. Blake comes walking in, followed by a smaller guy, he appears to be a demon. My guard goes up immediately. I head towards my bag to grab my necklace as the most handsome man enters the room.
“MATE!”
