Chapter 2

Gia’s POV

As Valerie heads off to training I make my way back to my room to get ready for my job interview. Security and fighting as become a passion of mine for obvious reasons. So I decided to apply at Shadow Hound Security in the city. It’s located on neutral ground in the middle of all the pack territories. Some humans live In the city as well as other supernatural beings. I’ve gone into the city a handful of times when traveling to other packs or running errands with Mama or Pops, who are my aunt and uncle.

They raised me as their own. After I showed back up after being kidnapped, my mother and father decided it was best if I live with them in a cabin away from everyone. That is also when they changed my appearance, to the public I am the daughter of Benny and Lilly. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. My skin tone is fair, I stand about 5’7. My body frame is the same since no one In the pack and outside the pack has seen my true appearance since before I was kidnapped. I fit in as a royal.

When in reality my true appearance, that show only in our cabin, is long brown wavy hair with natural blonde highlights. My skin is deeply tan, and my eyes are a golden green. All traits I picked up from my mother. Any hunter could spot me a mile away as the Princess of the Willow Moon pack. Everyone in the pack thinks the Princess of Willow Moon is living with Luna Novas Coven. No one knows I’m right next door.

I start going through my closet of what to wear to my job interview. My wolf has been pacing in my head the last 20 mins. She’s as nervous as I am. We want this really bad. We want to feel normal and accepted for once. If I get this job, I’m just going to tell everyone I am going to train at another pack, sometimes I’m gone for months at a time, no one will know the difference.

I get dressed in black slacks and a black fitted tshirt. My frame makes outfits look more sexy than I tend to but I want to look professional. I could potentially be someone’s bodyguard this week, or maybe a sniper, or even a bounty hunter. Shadow Hound is the top security in the country. This job could be the break I’m looking for. I can’t stay in my pack much longer, always a prisoner in my own home.

I know when I get into my interview I’ll have to show my true identity. They’ll have high security and will be able to detect my disguise, however my powers should stay hidden with my necklace. Only another pure high priest or priestess from my mothers coven can detect it, and as it stands my mother is only one in her coven with pure blood.

I pull my hair into a ponytail, knowing when I reveal myself true self my hair will be a mess in waves. I sigh as I walk away from the mirror and check the time. Just after 7:30. Mama and Pops will be waking up soon, I want to get out before they see me. I grab my bag and my portfolio and head to the kitchen. I grab myself a muffin and walk to the door, looking around, I realize this might be one of the last times I leave this little cabin. It’s beautiful even though it’s small and I’ve known nothing but love here. I wish I had the same relationship with my parents that I do with my aunt and uncle but it seems that will never be.

I head out the door and get into my Jeep. I put Shadow Hounds into my gps, an hour and a half drive. That gives me 30 mins to spare before my interview. I drive through town admiring how beautiful Willow moon really is. We have all the forest land on the outskirts for privacy to make our wolfs happy and inside the town is a little village with beautiful cottages for pack members and sitting on the hill is the castle. I always wished I could live in the castle and be apart of the family.

I don’t even want the fame of being a princess. I just want to be with my mother and father, even my half brother who is set to take over in a few years. Matt was born to my father and his first mate Tess, he’s four years older than me. Tess died during childbirth and my father found his second chance mate a year later while in the city for a business meeting. Three years later they had me, and three years after that everything changed.

My dream dreaming lead me to our pack territory gate. A guard approached my car. “Where are you headed miss?”

“I’m going to the hospital to get a check up with Dr. Greg Sermon.” Which isn’t exactly a lie. I do have a check up…at 2:30.

“Does Alpha Shaw know?” I roll my eyes. Always on lock down even though they think I’m just the niece.

“Yes he knows. Would you like to call him?” The guy grunts and I watch his eyes glaze over. He unlocks the gate and I drive through the gate flipping him off.

My father thinks I’m just going for a check up migraines. Which I don’t have but I knew I needed an excuse to leave the territory. I head out on the highway daydreaming about what kind of questions I’ll be asked. I’ve never had a job interview but I’ve done mock interviews with Greg and Val throughout the years.

I pull up to a super tall building 45 mins later. As soon as I pull into the parking garage my wolf starts howling in my head. “Stella what is going on”… no answer, she’s just pacing but she doesn’t seem to stressed. I’m on edge as I look around. I don’t sense any danger but she lets out another howl. I quickly make my way to the entrance and check in the receptionist.

“Hello, I have a job interview”

“Can I have your name please?”

“Gia Shaw”

“Ok have a seat right over there.” Pointing to a waiting area.

I walk over to the seating area, completely empty aside from me. Stella starts pacing again.

“Stella what is going on?”

“I don’t know. Something big is about to happen.”

As she’s about to say something else I hear my name being call “Gia Shaw”
