Chapter 20

Gia’s POV

We walk down to the main hall where Valerie and Eli were waiting for us. Eli was wearing a suit similar to Nathan’s but with a red tie.

“How did you guys know our dress colors?” I can’t help myself.

“I told them.” Valerie says

“And I had Malia run and grab us some this morning.” Nathan says and the kisses me on the cheek.

“You guys ready?”

I take a deep breath breath, am I ready to confront my parents and get some answers. Of course. Am I ready to let the world know I’m here and the danger that follows? Not so much.

“Let’s go.” I grab Nathan’s hand and follow him outside.

Im met with a white limo and I turn to look at Nathan.

“This is our first of many nights out but more importantly, it’s your first night out with out without having to hide who you are. I want it to be everything you’ve ever wanted.”

I know the mate bond has something to do with how I feel towards Nathan but I would’ve fallen for him anyways. This man is everything.

I lean up to give him a quick kiss him

“Thank you.” I whisper in his ear.

He smiles sweetly and we walk down to the limo. The driver hold open the door for us. Valerie and Eli getting in first followed by me then Nathan.

Everyone was making small talk but I couldn’t join in. I was lost in my thoughts trying to come up with all the scenarios in my head of how this night was going to go. I know my parents are going to be pissed, I know that much for sure.

As we get closer to Willow Moon territory I feel Nathan give my knee a squeeze. I glance over at him, they’re all still having their conversation and I am thankful both Valerie and Nathan, now Eli also, are helping me get the answers I need, they’re helping me to finally live my life the way that I want instead of hiding and training.

I’m thankful for my parents for keeping me safe and helping me learn to protect myself but they way they went about it was wrong.

We make our way the pack gates and a guard walked up to the driver window, even though the driver had the glass divider up I could still here the conversation.

“Jade Moon alpha and beta each with a plus one.”

“Move a head”

The limo goes forward and I can see the castle ahead. My heart aches a little, I’ve only been inside the castle a handful of times since my kidnapping. Matt was able to stay in the castle his whole life, my parents raising him the way I craved for them to care for me.

There was always a little jealous from me against Matt, he got to live the life I always wanted, two parents that were there for everything and given an extreme amount of love. I appreciate everything my aunt and uncle did for me and I love them so deeply but it never quite cured the burn from them distancing themselves from me.

Matt on the other hand was also kept in the dark about my true identity as well. Valerie and I were beneath him, he was the alphas son. We were just the cousins to the alpha. That’s it and that’s all.

We pull up in front the castle and the driver gets out to open the door for us. Theres a small crowd gathered outside. I can hear music playing softly from the ballroom. Valerie and Eli get out and I hear small murmurs about Valerie and her date.

“Wow she had to find someone from another pack to accompany her to the ball.”

“As long as stay stays away from out men I don’t care.”

“Of course she would dress like a skank.”

I roll my eyes, Valerie looks like a model, she’s gorgeous. I hope she wasn’t able to hear the comments, I can because of my heighten senses.

I also sense we are surround by a TON of werewolves. And my mom seems to be the only witch. No other species.

“Princess, they’re going to announce out arrival at the door of the ballroom. How do you want them to announce you?”

Nathan ask pulling me from my thoughts

“Use my title.” I say confidently

Nathan steps out and whispers about him start he holds out his hand to me and as soon as I step out all whispers stop and eyes are directly on me.

I square my shoulders and wrap my arm around Nathan’s elbow and we make our way to the ballroom. Eyes on us the whole time.

“You’ve got this baby.” Nathan whispers in my ear.

I take a deep breath as Nathan tells the announcers who is next. I can spot my parents and Matt with Rebecca to his side. I cringe when I see her. She’s always hated me and I’m not sure why. I wasn’t even around much.

Nathan guides us forward as the announcer yells while eyeing me suspiciously.

“Ladies and Gentlemen. Please welcome Alpha Nathan Cyrus of the Jade moon pack and his future Luna Princess Georgia Shaw.”

As soon as he said my name every head whipped to my direction so fast. I don’t pay attention to that though. My eyes are focused on my parents at the head table. My father is absolutely enraged.

We make our way further into ballroom and suddenly I’m engulfed in a bare hug. Aunt Lilly wrapped so tightly around me. I smile and hug her back. She’s looks beautiful.

“Gia you look so beautiful.” Tears pooling in her eyes.

“No one can hold a candle to either one of my baby girls.” Uncle Benny says joining us. “Alpha Nathan, it is a pleasure to meet you. You better be taking care of my baby.” I wrap uncle Benny in a hug after mama finally let’s go.

“Of course, I’ll give my life for her sir. She will never want for anything.” Nathan looks at me with love and adoration in his eyes.

I smile at him knowing he means every word

“Did you guys meet Valeries mate yet?”

“Yes we did, he seems like a very nice guy” mama says

“As long as he treats my other baby good we won’t have any issues” pop says in a grumble.

“Shall we have this dance before we take care of business?” Nathan ask

“I would love to!” I love dancing and I would like to enjoy a little of the night.

Nathan leads me to the dance floor and wraps me in his arms as we sway to a slower song. We don’t talk just enjoying each other’s company and being in each other’s arms.

“Nathan honey, there you are.” A blonde girl comes walking ups and place her hand on her arm.

Stella starts growling in my head and Nathan stiffens.

“What do you want Sarah?” Nathan ask coldly.

“Well I thought we could have just one dance, you know for old time sake.”

“I’m not interested. As you can see my mate and are in the middle of a dance.”

She finally looks over and me, taking me in for the first since she approached.

“I thought you were joking when you said you found your mate. Well how lovely.” I don’t like her already. Her aura is dirty and green. She gives me a look of pure hatred.

Nathan stops our dance and snatches her by the arm roughly “I would be careful how you are looking at my mate and OUR Princess.” He growls coldly to her. His eyes black as night.

Ok note to self, Nathan look very scary.

I place myself between them and grab Nathan’s face. “Nathan baby, look at me, it’s ok. Just let her go and we can enjoy our night.” His eyes turn back to their beautiful blue green as he watches me.

He lets go of Sarah with a little push and I feel her shoot daggers to the back of my head. I can’t blame her through, I would be trying to win Nathan back too. Sadly for her, we are mated and marked and she can’t change that now.

As we go back to dancing, I feel the familiar powerful presence approaching. Nathan smirks as he’s watching me and I nod. I turn just as they reach us.

“Mother, Father, what do we owe the pleasure?”

My father grabs my arm roughly and pulls me to him causing Nathan to growl and get into a fighting stance, my father lets go and copies Nathan.

There’s about to be a whole brawl when the loudest voice I’ve ever heard rings out.

“ENOUGH”
