Chapter 9

1209 Words
Nathan’s POV It’s been an hour as I search record for Gia Shaw. Nothing. Nothing shows up. There is no birth of Gia Shaw, no doctors records, no school records. Kal is angry at me and hasn’t said a word since we left the office. My phone starts ringing it’s DJ. “Hey boss, Gia is at the hospital now. She’s having lunch with what appears to be a doctor here. It sounds like she has an appointment scheduled. I’ve broken into the system and switched her doctor out with Eli. Call him and give him the heads up.” Kal growls in my head at the mention of Gia eating with another man. “Thanks DJ.” I hang up and call Eli, my beta. “Hello?” He answers “I need you to do me a favor, DJ gave you an appointment with a Gia Shaw. Get a good read on her and give me any info you can.” “Why exactly am I doing this?” Eli chose to be a doctor Jade Memorial instead of our pack hospital to stay out of the politics. I knew he wouldn’t like this. Until he hears why anyways. “This girl is your potential Luna.” Silence on the other end. “There’s a mystery behind her and I need all the information I can get.” “Understood.” He hangs up Blake phones in a moment later just as my mom walks in. I wave for her to sit down. “Tell me you got something.” I answer “I found something very odd, yes. I was looking into King Shaw and is Queen. Records show they have a son, however Luna Nova is not his mother. They had a daughter appears to have been kidnapped when she was three years old.” “Okay how does this relate to Gia.” “I’m going to send you a picture of Luna Nova.” My computer dings and I open the file. Alpha Joel and Luna Nova are in an article of some kind, “getting to know the royals” alpha Joel is standing tall with his blonde hair and blue eyes. Next to him, heart races, is Nova standing tall herself. With tanned skin, dark brown wavy hair and deep green eyes. She is Gia’s twin, aside from Gia having golden highlights in her hair and golden eyes. Blake breaks my train of thought. “… the birth certificate I’m sending is for a Georgia Shaw” Georgia? Gia? Could this be? Is my mate the Princess? I need answers. “Thank you Blake please send over anything else you may find.” I hang up quickly and start pacing my office. My mom still sitting across the desk watching. I know she heard everything. “Honey can I ask what interest you have with the royals?” She finally speaks. I don’t know if I should tell her the truth or not. She’s been dying for me to find my mate, she’s hated every girlfriend I’ve had, even Sarah. I sit down next to her. “I think I’ve found my mate.” I place my elbows on my knees and hold my head in my hands. “Well we should be celebrating, but it’s looks like you’re planning a funeral.” “I believe she’s the missing princess.” My moms face is shell shocked. “Maria!” We hear my dad calling from the hall. He knocks on my door and opens it. “Oh there you are. Lindsey’s here with Caleb.” She says referring to my sister and nephew. She found her mate at a neighboring pack about 6 years ago and move there. Thankful it’s only about two hours away so she visits often. “Whats going on in here? Why so glum?” “Our son thinks he found his mate.” My mom says with no emotion. What has gotten into her? She was so excited moments ago. “That’s great!” My dads says and claps me on the back. I stand and look at him. “It’s the missing the Princess.” His face turns to stone. “How? She’s missing is she not?” “I believe she came into my office looking for a job.” My mother and father exchange looks. “We’ll talk about this more later. Right now let’s go spend some time with Caleb.” Uh what? “Did you guys hear me?” I ask incredulously “Yes, we will figure this out later.” My dad demands. As he opens the door. I grab my phone and lock my office door. Following them out into the hall. What just happened? Do they know something they aren’t telling me?” A couple hours pass and DJ text me to let me know Gia is back on her territory and there’s nothing more he can do today. Blake let me know his appointment with Gia was brief but believes her wolf is very powerful. Which is a turn, a powerful mate is a dream come true. He also said she seemed very sad, to which Kal howled painfully. We were just sitting down for dinner when I hear that high pitched voice. “Darling I’m so glad to see you are feeling better.” Sarah says leaning in for a kiss. Kal growled forcefully causing a growl from my throat. Sarah jumped back frightened. My dad and mom looked at each Other while Lindsey looked directly at me. Caleb my four year old nephew found humor in it. Sarah rolled her eyes at him. “Sarah how nice of you to join us.” My mom calls to her. “Maria, Ty. Pleasure. Lindsey I’m assuming?” Lindsey’s just continues eating. Sarah chuckles. She’s never been my type. High maintenance. Her fake nails, fake long blonde hair. Brown eyes. Always in designer clothes and heels. Poor attitude, she thinks she’s better than everyone. The only reason I date her is because she’s easy and I can push her aside without explaining. Her father keeps her coming back. “Sarah can speak outside please?” “Of course darling.” I grab Sarah by the elbow and pull her outside of the pack house. “Sarah I told you I didn’t want to see you tonight.” “Well I thought you might change your mind.” She’s says rubbing her hand down my arm. I push her hand away. “I’m sorry Sarah but we are done. Tell your father there will be no alliance. I’ve found my mate.” Well kinda Sarah stands and looks at me shocked. She slaps me across the face and turns on her heel and leaves. I mindlink Bo “Sarah and her father are no longer welcome here.” “Yes sir.” I mindlink my dad next. “I’m letting Kal out to clear my head.” Before he answer I strip and take off in the woods. I run from about an hour, I decide to stop and get a drink. Kal reflection staring back in the lake. His midnight black coat gleaming in the moonlight.
