THE UNSEEN FLAME

Chapter Eleven

Tania opened up to people outside her students.She became friends with a woman,her age.Her name was Xamie.Their bond grew steadily to the point that they felt like blood sisters, people envied them.People envied their loyalty to each other,they envied how careful these two handled their friendship.It was always hard for other people to keep people close to them like these two kept each other. Tania was very satisfied and happy to have found love and family love from someone she didn't really have a blood relationship with.She loved,confided and had pride in Xamie.Xamie came second after her husband,the only two people she was deeply attached to.She couldn't stand losing them.

Xamie was a medical personnel and she worked for one of the best hospitals in the country at the time.Whenever Xamie got off work,the two of them went for hot pot,Chinese food, bowling and parties on the weekends.Tania never really did this before she met Xamie,but here they were, enjoying each other's company without regrets. Tania had not officially introduced Xamie to Julian for a long time.Tania did not find comfort in telling Xamie about her marriage affairs.She felt that she had to be cautious .She would let her in when the time really came,but it had not yet come.It is one day after one of their famous "girls' night out" that Xamie stayed the night at Tania's.She was way too drunk to drive herself home,so Tania,with the help of her chauffeur helped Xamie into Tania's car to Tania's home. Tania had the guest bedroom prepared for her,and she made sure Xamie had comfort through the night.

Early the next morning,Tania came to check on her guest.She found Xamie sitting on the bed, bending forward.She was heavy with 'hang over'."Why are you up so early, what's the occasion?,"Tania asked."I have to go to work,"Xamie answered half asleep and her head so heavy."Work? Don't you guys ever have any day off?""No,I have patients specifically assigned to me,I can't just forsake them because of a hang over," "But it still makes no sense you attending to them in your state.I think you should call in sick,"Tania requested and Xamie nodded.This is the first time Tania had ever seen Xamie comply so easily.

Tania proceeded to the kitchen to make soup that would help with Xamie's hang over.She also prepared the bath for her,so sweet of Tania.After Xamie had taken a bath and cleared the soup,she felt better and she therefore decided to go to work.When she stepped into the living room,she yelled out,"Tania am leaving for work." She thought it is Tania she had had in the kitchen doing the dishes."Tania is upstairs in the master bedroom.I think I should call her for you," Julian mentioned."Jeez,it never crossed my mind that this guy was this cute physically," Xamie muttered to herself,the words inaudible."Did you say something?," "No no no,not really," Xamie stuttered.Julian felt awkward,he proceeded to call Tania,so she could see her friend off.

When Tania came into the living room,the atmosphere felt so awkward and heavy."I was just leaving," Xamie said."I thought you called in sick!," Tania said surprised."Am so sorry,I happened to feel a lot better and am fit for work.Thank you for everything.Am sorry for the trouble I caused you the previous night,bye bye. I'll see you in the evening," Xamie mentioned as she stepped out.Julian on the other hand had gone back to his business,he was doing the dishes in the kitchen.
