Chapter 15: Problems Shared
After checking in at The Black Dog Inn, the two men went off in different directions: Leslie in search of a telephone to call Robert, apologize for his hasty departure, and hopefully get back in his brother’s good graces, and Edward to locate the newlyweds.
Cyril, sitting in the inn’s pub and nursing a beer, looked up in shocked surprise when Edward strolled into the pub. Without preamble, he launched into a detailed description of his trip to Laxey, not the least of which was how miserable he’d been without Caroline by his side. “She wanted alone time,” he said. “Funny thing to say on a honeymoon, wouldn’t you say?”
