It was a warm summer night in The Moon Valley Pack.
The full moon shone brightly on the area, illuminating everything the light touched.
The wind blew and the leaves blew freely with it. Though the weather seemed peaceful, it was anything but.
Many of the pack members were excited. Their Alpha and Luna were welcoming a new bundle of joy.
The packhouse was chaotic as members rushed to prepare for the new addition.
It was especially chaotic because the previous Alpha and Luna and the Fairy King and Queen were there to watch their grandchildren and welcome the new baby.
In the hospital, it was just as chaotic.
Nurses rushed from room to room trying to prepare. Some were sterilizing the area for the baby, some were in the delivery room helping the Luna push. Others were too nervous to sit still. Whenever the Alpha and Luna were present, the members of the pack were all so nervous wrecks.
And the doctor was no expectation. Though he has been there for the Alpha and Luna through all their children’s birth, he still feels timorous when they are near.
“Aaaah, get this baby out of me,” yelled Khai. A man paced in the background watching as his wife continued to push and push.
Khai continued to scream in pain as the man watched. He was anxious as well, though he watched his love give birth to two other children before.
“One more good push and the baby will be here,” the doctor told her.
“Aaaaaaaah!” Khai screamed. In the background, her husband cooed to her with confident and happy words.
Soon the doctor held the baby, but the look on his face was grim. He quickly gave the baby to the nurses to quickly help the child.
“What’s wrong,” asked Khai. With her other three children, she heard cries as soon as they were born, but with his child, she did not. She was concerned for her new daughter.
The doctor did not answer her question and continued to give the baby a shot and put her on a ventilator. Soon the baby’s breathing was stable.
The nurse and doctor rolled the baby’s temporary crib to the Alpha and Luna.
“Welcome to the pack,” whispered the doctor. The doctor showed Khai and her husband their beautiful baby girl.
She has black curly hair like her parents, her skin was like vanilla but would soon be the color of chocolate.
Her eyes are still dark blue. Her parents were looking forward to seeing their daughter's eyes change.
The doctor handed the baby over to the happy parents carefully, minding the tubes attached to the oxygen. The parents’ minds were running wild with thoughts of how their beautiful baby girl will grow up.
The doctor and nurse left to give the parents time alone with their child and prepare for the next steps with her.
“Look how precious she is,” Khai cooed.
“I know, the most beautiful baby girl,” Jarius professed.
“Have you smelled her?” asked Khai. “I know I smell honey, but her scent is mixed with something. Do you think….”
“She must be,” he confessed.
‘Our daughter is a hybrid.”
“I can’t wait to train her,” said Jarius. “Me too, our plan to combine packs and happen, and she can lead them. She will be the best alpha and queen,” Khai cooed.
Soon a loud screech was heard throughout the pack.
“What’s that,” Khai inquired. “I had my mindlink cut off so I could be with you,” Jarius commented.
The lights cut out unexpectedly. Khai struggled to see in the darkness, but because of Jarius' heightened senses, he could see perfectly.
Within a second a puff of smoke clouded the view of the room and a man appeared. He sat in the chair across the hospital room facing Jarius, Khai, and the baby, nonchalantly.
Jarius could see him perfectly and was growling lowly at the man.
The lights flickered back on and Khai finally saw him. She held her baby tightly, being careful of the tubes.
The man was a giant or could be a descendant of one. He had a sharp jaw and dark brown hair. If he wasn’t trying to take their baby, Khai would think he was pretty handsome.
“Congratulations on the birth of your adorable baby girl,” the man said.
“Who are you,” yelled Jarius, letting some of the powerful aura show.
The man waved the Alpha off and said, “Enough of the big powerful Alpha. Who I am is of no concern to you. I’m only here for my boss. He likes to say congrats on the birth of your baby.”
Both Alpha and Luna were annoyed and concerned about their baby.
“What does your boss want,” asked Khai.
“Her of course, she will be a very powerful she-wolf-fairy hybrid.” the man explained.
“And of Alpha blood and royalty, it’s just icing on the cake for him,” he continued.
“You will not lay a hand on my child.” yelled the Alpha
“I know I won’t, but in due time,” with a snap of a finger, he disappeared, leaving the Alpha and Luna distraught.
“I don't want him to take my baby, Jarius. We need to do something.” Khai whined.
“He won't, I promise you that.”
And with the newfound information, The Alpha and Luna constructed a plan to save their daughter.
