Elma POV A shockwave of agony shot up my legs and straight into my spine as I slammed into the earth. I rolled crashing through a bed of rose bushes. Thorns shredded my exposed skin and what little was left of my gown. I laid there for seconds, gasping for air. I was alive. "There she goes! Get the b***h!" Adrenaline flooded my veins as I scrambled to my feet ignoring the throbbing ache in my joints. "Don't let her reach the gates!" one of them howled. They were faster, bred for warfare and fueled by vengeance over their dead Alpha. I needed shadows. I needed the tree line. Ahead of me lay the entrance to the kingdom's bordering forest.
