MARCUS' POV: "Hey Marcus." I looked up and over and nodded to the temp bartender we hired at the club and nodded my head at her. "I wanted to ask if I can have this weekend off. I have this thing to do.. my aunt is coming to town-" "Take the weekend off, again, and don't come back." I told her and she pouted her lip and I had to refrain from looking away. "That would make it your third weekend you didn't work. And you still took the Monday off after last weekend without notice. You're on your temp time still, not even 45 days in and you're asking for a busy weekend off? It's unprofessional at best." I told her quickly and moved to set the clipboard down. "That's not fair, I need the time off and I need the job-" "Listen lady, you're here for work, not hand outs. If you want to work then you need to actually work. Not take every weekend off. We make most of our money on weekends. You were hired full time because you said you can handle the hours. That means you knew weekends were part of the deal. I now have to go and hire another person, and if that person wants your hours, and is actually going to work them without asking for too much time off within the first 90 days." I dismissed her and went to get behind the bar. "You're fired, enjoy your weekend off." I told her when she started to follow me.  "You can't do that!" "I can.  You're not working the hours we need you to. You're over asking knowing we don't have another bartender... this isn't a fun house. It's a place of work. If you had a legitimate reason, like a doctors appointment, a baby in your family was born, you have a sibling or child to take care of...  things like that... that would get you a pass. The last girl that worked your station was a full time care taker for her little sister and she was late once and that was just at a last minute meeting." I told her, made her stop following me as I turned close to the door and got in her space. "You're gone, so get gone."  "Screw you. I just needed an easy job." She tried to push me away but I was built like a wall so I kept still as she turned, flipping her hair high as she tried to walk out like she owned the place. I took a deep breath and headed to the office again. I hung up the clipboard, forgot about it for now, and I got ready to man the bar for the night. I was sitting at the bar for a couple minutes until men started rolling in for the weekend, fresh money from their paychecks. I collected cash, tips, and made sure the brothers around here were doing their jobs. No one was fighting, no one was touching the girls... and I was going to rake in some of my new cash so I could actually buy a new mattress, a new couch, and some other s**t I would need to make my new place mine. I almost missed my old house. I had gotten it after I was in prison... it was my own little paradise. I had a gym, a room, a kitchen that was big enough for me to pace when I couldn't sleep at night. I had a good set up until s**t went down hill. I looked around at the end of the night and made sure that s**t was cleaned up, the girls were gone and safe. I made the drop into the safe and headed out. I got on my bike, headed to the clubhouse and made sure that my bike was tucked away safe before going inside. Some of the brothers were here, not drinking more than beers, and I looked around and saw that she was behind the bar. Tara.  She was kind of off limits. With everything I heard about with Bellamy and Sienna, it would be a hassle. It was almost intriguing, to see how far I would be able to take it, but... she was making sure I knew, as well as everyone else, that she was off limits, that she didn't want anyone. But she made sure to take care of the brothers. I got here and no less than two weeks later a couple of the guys got some stomach bug and she was buying soup and making the guys clean up and she checked temperatures and clucked like a chicken if a new guy was getting sick.  She might be off limits like that, but I had a feelings that was more her than Ryan. I walked to the bar and sat down and she walked over, wiping her hands, and waiting. "Just a beer." "Any kind?" She asked with a slight laugh and I shook my head. Watching her walk behind the bar, grab something out of the bottom shelf before popping it open easily and walking back over to me I got to admire her a bit more. I should probably go out and get laid, but I didn't want the cling-ons and I didn't want any drama. Unlike Sienna, Tara was wider in the hips, her thighs were thick, and her figure was like a perfect hourglass. Big hips, big t**s, and pretty eyes. If she didn't ooze the 'don't even try it' I would do what Bellamy did. Sneak around, have some fun. s**t, if she were the right girl we'd make it serious.  "How are you holding up at the strip club?" She asked as I took a long swig before setting it down. "Fired the new girl tonight." I told her and she raised her eyebrows like she was shocked. "This was the third weekend in a row she wanted off. Not to mention she was late I think 3 times this week by more than half an hour." I told her and she shook her head. "So she finished out the night -" "Oh... no. I told her to leave before we got too busy. I got behind the bar and stayed there for the night." I explained and she shook her head. "After that girl Avery's dating left you really went through the bartenders there huh?" "After Gemma left you kind of stepped in for two days while I did interviews. That was nice." I told her and she shrugged but crossed her arms. "I can see if the girl I used to work with wants to come work for us. She's nice and what I remember was only late once when she had to fix her own flat tire." She told me and I nodded. "And maybe if you're nice, you might get a date out of her." She slapped the bar, gave me a smile and turned away. Fuck dating an employee, that would be another reason someone would quit or be fired. TARA'S POV: I called Brianna, wondering if she had enough of our old boss and wanted to work for the MC at a strip club behind the bar. She was skeptical, wondering what it would look like to the men there, and I told her that the brothers would make sure that she wasn't attacked, or taken advantage of. I told her to just come and work with me for a night there, I will watch out for her, and she can interview with the head man in charge and then see how she likes it. I got her to agree to coming in on Monday night since the regular bar she worked at was closed, she would get all tips, and paid for the night in cash. "Good news." I walked over to Marcus and gave him a smile. "I got a girl to come to the club in two days. She'll make sure it's safe for her, I don't think she's ever been in a strip club. I told her I would work with her and that she could get paid for the night in cash. You'll interview her and see how she works." I told him and he nodded slowly and worked his jaw. "Relax big guy, it's all good news." I tapped his hand and heard a couple hoots and looked over to see that someone just won a pool game and Grey lifted up his girl for the night and pretended to bang her on the table. "Grey!" I shouted and he looked around, actually smiled and shrugged like he was sorry and then set her down. "I was right about you." Marcus laughed softly and I focused my eyes back on him and stared him down until he talked. "You're like their mother hen. Clucking about when they're sick, yelling at them like they're kids." I shrugged, someone needed to let these men be men, but still take care of them and make sure they get their s**t done. "What about it? They might be men, but even men need rules. Mine are... no public f*****g, no drinking and driving, or riding, if any of them get in trouble they know to call me or Ryan." I told him and he nodded. "I get that. I said I was right. I didn't say it was weird or needed to change." He told me as he smirked. "So, Monday night this new girl is coming in, how long has she worked at the other bar?" "About a year now I think. Almost a year if not." I told him and he nodded. "I taught her everything I know, and there were no problems when I took over for a couple nights." I reminded him and he nodded like he already knew that. "If she's good Tara, you're the one to know. I just want to make sure I won't need to get a new one after her. What's her name?" "Brianna." I told him and he nodded. "You're going to like her. Like I said, maybe you can get a date." I added and he narrowed his eyes on me like he was trying to see past my face and read my mind. "I wouldn't date an employee. It's a recipe for a messy fling." "It wouldn't have to be a fling. Could be a relationship. Come on... almost all the guys around here are starting to settle down. Maybe you could find  a nice girl to shack up with." I smirked back and he looked me up and down before shaking his head slightly. "I don't do serious. Did it once, and never again." He told me and I found that a little lacking in the information department. I wanted to know more. How old was he? How did it end? When did it end? Who was she? "What happened?" I asked hoping he would just spill all his secrets. He finished his beer and worked his jaw again and I focused on his eyes, his mouth, trying to find a way to make him tell me by just looks alone. "Maybe one day you will get me drunk enough to hear about it." He smirked as he stood up and he tossed down a couple ones to pay for the beer before he cracked his knuckles. "As for tonight... I am going to bed." I watched him walk up the stairs and I wanted to know more. I wanted to know how he lost a long time serious relationship. Hell... I wanted to know who would let a piece of man candy like him go. He was hot. Marcus was by far the hottest brother to join our Chapter. I remember being 17 and thinking that was a man named Frank, but he was just pretty boy cute. He wanted to be Frank but everyone called him little Frankie and my dad set him on a path that led to 25 to life. I wanted him to be my first. I was half in love with his looks, half in love with his accent. But Marcus... was something else. He wasn't a pretty boy. He was a mystery, and for the life of me I didn't know if that was a better or worse. Maybe if I really wanted something from him I would find out.
