Amby stormed into her room, slamming the door behind her. Her heart pounded wildly, her breath uneven. She pressed a trembling hand against her lips, still tingling from Gabe’s unexpected kiss. Anger, confusion, and something else—something unspoken—swirled within her like a storm. She threw her bag onto the couch and paced the small living room. "Who the hell does he think he is?" she muttered, shaking her head. Gabe Blackwood—cold, untouchable, and utterly insufferable. She had met powerful men before, but none had ever been as arrogant or as dangerous. And yet. Her reflection in the mirror caught her attention. Her cheeks were still flushed, her lips parted slightly as if frozen in the moment. She scowled at herself and turned away. No. She would not allow him to get under her skin.
