Detention

At 4pm I rushed to the detention hall, hoping that no one would get in my way and make me late. I just wanted to do my time and then run to work before the Luna would notice that I was missing and surely fire me for being late. ‘Andrea nice to see you early’ Mr. Kyle looked up from his papers he was marking. ‘I hate being late sir and I have somewhere to be after detention’ I replied trying not to be sarcastic. ‘Sit over there and do some homework, you have the time and you’re not busy. You are a smart student Andrea, I would hate for that potential to be wasted on rushing around’ Mr. Kyle looked sympathetically to me. I just nodded as I sat myself down and started to do my math homework. It was so humiliating to be in detention. In fact it was my first detention and of course Alma wanted every detail of Mr. Kyle’s muscles when I bumped into him. After thirty minutes, I had finished my homework, pleased that I had gotten it all completed before I had started work. I usually spent my breaks doing homework and this meant that I could relax on my break and catch up on the gossip from the other omegas. I looked up from my desk as I could hear loud footsteps coming from the hallway near the detention hall. Mr. Kyle looked up from his desk as the doors swung open and in walked the Alpha’s son Louis, wearing all black, a tight fitting T-shirt which left no imagination about the muscles that were underneath it and skinny black jeans that were torn at the knees and black boots that completed the look. With his deep sky blue eyes and shoulder length black hair, he was everyone’s fantasy. Apart from mine. ‘Alpha Louis what brings you here?’ Asked Mr. Kyle his voice shaking a little bit. I smirked. ‘I’m not alpha yet, it’s just Louis. The Luna has noticed that Andrea is missing and was getting worried about her as she is one of the best workers the Luna has. If you are done with detention we need her back immediately’ replied Louis who looked bored and impatient. I hadn’t seen Louis in awhile, as he had been sent to boarding school for future Alphas. He went there as a boy and returned a man. Was I checking him out? I asked myself. No, you haven’t seen him for years and quickly dismissed the thought. I hadn’t seen him in the pack house since he came back. I knew he had girlfriends as they tried telling us omegas what to do for them, they always seemed to think they would be the next future Luna. ‘What does the Luna want with me? I’m not due in work for fifteen minutes?’ I asked Louis, my worry and panic rising. ‘I can’t really say, i have been. Looking for you for over thirty minutes! I will explain everything when we get to the car’ he replied, his eyes roaming over me. With that he turned away and started to walk out of the hall. ‘Well go Andrea’ Mr. Kyle ordered me. I slung my back bag over my shoulder and tried to keep pace with Louis. My thoughts were all over the place thinking why had the Luna requested me specifically, it didn’t make sense. Louis pointed out his kitted out land river in the car park. Of course he would have a good car. We rode in silence, and as fast as possible. We made it to the pack house and my what a grand place it was, every time I saw it, it took my breath away. An omega like myself would never be able to live there. It was stunning. Manicured lawns with all kinds of flowers lined the driveway. Kids played and had fun in the gardens. I thought of my twin brothers having to play on our porch, it wasn’t fair. The pack house was huge, five floors that contained a kitchen, a canteen, offices, flats and bedrooms. It rivalled that of most five star hotels in the travel magazines. That’s when I saw other omegas running around with buckets of water and the plume of smoke coming from one of the floors. I saw a few people who had soot covering them and ambulances ready to take them away. I dropped my back pack on the ground and rushed to grab a bucket of water to wipe the soot out of one man’s eyes. I nearly cried when he was howling for his mate. ‘Who did this’ I asked Louis when he brought me a fresh bucket of water. He refused to answer me. ‘Who would do this Louis?’ I asked again. ‘Your parents Andrea’
