I felt as if I had been punched in the chest. Oxygen has completely left my system. All I could do was stare at the two of them as the blood rushed to my ears. Bass’ expression said it all.
She was right.
A pang of hurt overwhelms me. Betrayal. It was fresh in my mouth. Never did I think I would feel this way towards Bass. Anyone but Bass.
It wouldn’t have hurt as much if he didn’t lie.
But he did. He lied to my face.
It didn’t help that Sirena’s grin widened at the obvious rage that I was feeling.
