You must be Giselle

I rubbed my clammy fingers against my dress. Her eyes scanned me from my head and to my toe. “You must Giselle. The woman's who has stolen my grandbaby's heart.” She said, her face grim and Lynnie giggled at her grandmother's words. I didn't know if I should nod or not. She moved gracefully, her heels clicking behind her until she was standing directly in front of me. She stood towering over me and she bent like she wanted to scan my face properly. I tried to bend away from her touch as much as I could. She had her son's eyes. “I heard you were involved in my baby's kidnap.” I swallowed at the steely look in her eyes. My heart pounded harshly. I had no idea what to say. She was invading my personal space. “I-I-I didn't mean to.” I stumbled over my words. “Hmm.” She clicked, her unwavering gaze still on my face. “I also heard you were married to that brute.” She pulled back a little. “I-I.” “In our world, debts are always paid back in full.” My breathe hitched. “You've lost enough so you no longer owe us anything.” She pulled back completely and I felt like I could breathe finally. “You saved my baby's live, you do not hold my trust but for that I'm grateful.” She said, her icy look cooling a bit. “You looks harmless to me.” She suddenly said casually, “Why on earth was your father throwing such a big fuss then?” She looked towards Lynnie who shrugged and giggled indicating she didn't even understand a thing her grandmother said but found it funny anyway. “Come on, have breakfast with me.” Her personality did another 180 degree switch, making me dizzy. She set Lynnie on her feet, moving in front of me. When I didn't move, she turned to me with a pointed stare, snapping me out my riverie. I wasn't sure I was comfortable with eating with a person with bipolar issues. Mrs Taylor helped me to the table. By the time I was seated and breathing heavily. Grandmother and grandchild were already seated and watching. Breakfast was slow and awkward. Atleast for me. Lynnie was having the time of her life and so was her grandmother. They whispered to each other, the older woman feeding her grandchild. Their conversation suddenly paused and I looked up to find two pair of eyes staring at me. “Why aren't you eating?” Lynnie’s Nana asked. “I-I’m not so hungry.” I didn't know how to say that my stomach couldn't keep in anything. Haven't been able to for a while now. She gave me a pointed look. “You look malnourished.” She bluntly stated. “You look like you haven't had a proper meal in while. My neck twisted around me like I was searching for some kind of help. “I-I-” I couldn't help but continuously stumble over my words when those intense orbs were focused on me. Lucas never brought home found, neither did he ever leave enough money to fill the house with groceries. I had to make do with what I had without complaining. I was so used to very small portions that anything more would upset my stomach and it only worsened since after the miscarriage. “Have my breakfast.” Lynnie sweetly offered, chunking her fork into her pancakes and bringing them over to my lips. I blinked, the back of my eyes burning as I leaned forward to eat the cut of pancakes. “Thank you hunny.” I told her. She had no idea how much her little acts of care really meant to me. “Still, you fall under my authority now so you'll have to be healthy. I'll your doctor in on you again. In that moment I began to think, she may seem stern and icy but she didn't have any dark or evil vibes to her. Maybe they weren't so bad after all. Maybe Jimmy was mistaken, it was very common for people to have similar first and last names. Maybe they were just a really wealthy family and I could just walk away without being harmed. Maybe they was still a chance for me to have my freedom for once. In that moment. The front door to a living room I haven't walked into since I arrived slammed open and Romero walked into the room with a series of men also clad in black suits behind. All of them looking beyond dangerous looking. “Uncle John.” Lynnie jumped from chair towards the largest man in the room. Eyes softened the moment they were set on her. She hugged and kissed the cheek of no more than fifteen men without breaking a sweat. The man each picking her up and passing her so she wouldn't have to run. Her father finally held his daughter in his arms like he was only seconds from losing his patience. He walked up to his mother and bent to her height to place a kiss to her head. Not looking in my direction even once. A few of the men followed, placing a kiss to her cheek and she waved at the rest. “It's you.” A voice growled from the side. My eyes snapped towards the men standing by Lynnie’s Nana's side. My heart thundered in my chest. My world closing in on me. The man stormed closer to me. His hand latched into my as he dragged my body up as if to look into my eyes more clearly. I whimpered. “It. is. you.” He barked again, rage swirling in his eyes as I shook. It was him, one of the men I thought Lucas's men had killed. It was the man who insisted they left me on the street before the chaos began. I choked on air.
