Chapter 10 - Getting more complicated

NEXT DAY:
I decided to visit her in Me Amore Salon. I brought coffee and bagels she taught me how to do it. I want her to taste it. I also booked treatment for my hair.
To my surprise, when I entered her salon I met his brother, Kiet. Faye didn't know yet that he is my ex-boyfriend. I never mentioned her about my love life. But for sure she knows that I broke up with my boyfriend since she saw me at the bar drinking and wasted that day.
"Hi Yoko, you're here!" She hugs me.
I thought she don't want her brother to know about them. Why is she hugging me?
"Oh, my brother is here too. You met him yesterday." She wanted me to recall but I will never forget what happened yesterday.
"Yes... I remember him..."
"Is that for me?" She gets the coffee and box of bread in me.
"Ye..yes! It is for you." I blushed. "I'll be back later, Faye."
Before Faye say anything. I go out to her salon.
I didn't know that Kiet followed me.
"Yoko! Wait! Wait for me!", he shouted.
I stopped and faced him. We are in the road. Luckily no passerby.
Kiet touched his head. He is thinking what to say.
"A... I just want to say, Im so sorry for what I did. It is all on me. Please don't be angry to Niran. You can hate me instead."
After all, he wanted to protect Niran. I got hurt again.
"Yes! I hate you. You hurt me! You never loved me. You used me! I did love you" I shouted to him. All my emotions burst. I cried again.
I didn't know that Faye was there too. I was so focused on him. When I saw Faye, I ran. I didn't know how I can face her when she knows about it.
I went back to my apartment. Why would be two became siblings. My fate is playing me. I am thinking what I would do. I can't say to Faye that his brother is a gay and in love with my best friend, Niran. I really don't know what to do. I don't have someone to talk to.
Someone rings my doorbell.
"It's me, Faye."
I panicked. I don't know what to do. I wiped my eyes. I looked into the mirror if I looked okay to face her. I saw a sad girl in front of me. I am about to cry again but I took a deep breath. Faye should know everything. I can't lie with her.
I open the door. She is so worried about me.
"What's wrong, baby?" Then she hugs me.
I invited her inside. We sat on my sofa.
"I have something to tell you."
"Okay, what is it?"
She's looking at me intently. It is hard to see her eye on eye. I avoided her eyes and said...
"Kiet is my ex."
"I know."
I looked at her. I wanted to ask how she knew.
"I heard it earlier."
"Do you hear everything?"
"Yes." Faye said.
"Are you okay with it?"
"Well... I can't change the past. But I am now your present, right?" Like asking assurance. Then She smiled.
I hugged her and looked at her.
"Yes, you are my present." I assured her.
I smiled at her. She kissed me. I am about to lay on the sofa when someone rings my doorbell.
I didn't expect any visitors.
I looked on the peep hole to see who was ringing my doorbell.
My mom! She doesn’t usually visit me. Why is she here.
I opened the door.
"Mom! Why are you here?" I hugged her.
I'm spoiled to her because my sister and I are her only children.
"My baby! I missed you so much!" She hugged me tight.
"Oh, you have a friend here."
"Oh, yes Mom. Come inside."
I take a deep breath.
"Mom, this is Faye... My...girlfriend!"
I saw the reaction of Faye, she got surprised!
She looked at me. She doesn't know what to say.
"What do you mean your girlfriend?!"
"I love her, Mom."
I told Mom because I believe she can understand me. I don't want to lie anymore after everything happens to me. After all I am her baby. I am sure, she will never hate me.
"I thought his name is Kiet?" So, is she Kiet? I thought Kiet was a man."
She is shocked and confused.
"No mom, Kiet is his brother. Faye is my girlfriend now."
"What?!" Mom touched her heard as she doesn't understand what I am saying.
I let my mom sit on my sofa. Wait Mom.
Faye didn't expect that I will reveal our relationship to mom. She looks uneasy.
"Yoko, why did to tell your mom? She whispers in me when I get a glass of water for mom.
"It is alright Faye. She will know soon. It is better to tell her right now than to let anybody tell her."
"Mom, here's your water." My mother touches her temple. I sat in front of her. I held her hands.
"Mom, I am sorry that I didn't tell you immediately about us."
"Do you really love her? She's a girl! Are you sure about it?" Mom is worried.
"Yes, mom. I really love her."
"I want to talk to her in private."
"Why? You can talk to us right now, Mom."
Faye stayed in the kitchen but clearly heard everything since her kitchen and her living room is in one open area.
"I need to go, baby. She touched my head."
I didn't know what my mom is thinking. She did not scold me.
She walked towards Faye.
"Let's meet tomorrow, Faye." She went outside without saying goodbye.
"Yoko, send me her number."
My mom never calls my name. She always calls me baby. But now she calls me Yoko.
I have no choice but to send her number. Faye agreed to meet her. They will talk without me. Is mom threating Faye like what she watches in a movie?
"I'll go to, Babe. See you tomorrow." She kissed me.
I left alone in my apartment.
I texted Faye, "Please update me tomorrow.
Don't be afraid of Mom." ❤️
She replied. "Don't worry, Babe. ❤️"
