I can't keep myself from pacing as I await Ward's return, and it's what I'm still doing when he arrives in wolf form. “They don't want me to fight do they?” I growl. If possible, Ward looks sheepish. I throw my head back and nearly scream at the sky, remembering at the last minute to keep silent. “Take me with you.” I insist. Ward examines me for a moment or two, then dips his head in a nod. He crouches and I clamber onto his back. He takes off at a hunched run through the woods, and I keep my body flat against his. We make it out of the trees and finally I finally realize I'm seeing tents, nothing more than dark patches against the lighter patches of sky. It sends a shiver down my spine, it wouldn't be so damn spooky if I didn't know what we were about to do. Like a shadow himself, Ward
