CHAPTER FOUR
The rest of the day passed without incident. The crowd at the gatehouse didn’t leave, but they weren’t trying to get past the soldiers now. Derrick doubled the number of the guards just to be safe. Broderick spent most of the day walking the honeysuckle fields and watching the servants harvest the nectar. His cousin had spent most of the day dealing with the various aspects of his business.
Broderick hoped this wizard fellow could tell him what the shard was and how it was causing odd things to happen. While he walked the fields, he did notice what appeared to be a figure among the tree line that bordered Derrick’s fields.
