Strikers Fined for Robotic-limbed Center
System Claria, Zone 82 – Fans arriving for tonight’s Ember Ball championship between the Zone 82 Strikers and the Zone 90 Archers will not see star Striker center, Tankin Roberts.
Ember Ball League (EBL) officials discovered Roberts, a two-year starting player responsible for last year’s championship win, actually had robotic legs to help him achieve his infamous vertical leap.
Striker Coach Gerry Van said he was astonished by the news.
“I don’t know what we’re going to do,” he said. “He’s such a smart guy. I didn’t ever believe he could be cheating. I’m sure the investigation will bring more details to light, but I’ll admit I thought he was just a large player...”
