Prologue-8

Now we have a ten minute drive to the small village of Solomos. It's set amidst beautiful scenery. The taverna we're going to is family run, catering for locals rather than tourists. I came across it purely by chance. The food there is excellent. Lunch will be in the form of a mezethes, meatballs, whitebait, tzatziki, fried courgettes, hummus, village sausage, salad with feta cheese and freshly made bread. If you're not familiar with any of the food try just a little. Jugs of local wine will be on the table. If you prefer beer just ask. I would advise you not to drink too much alcohol as our visit to Mycenae will be at the sun's hottest and the site is very exposed. We'll all be sitting at the same table so will be quite relaxed. And here we are. There's our host, Mr George, to greet us.
