After a nearly full day of fruitless investigation, what do I come home to? Sara nursing an unconscious Maria. Smokey immediately jumps on the bed and nuzzles her.
"Sara, I know you were excited to fight but to push her that far."
"...I have no excuse. I'm sorry."
"I'm not the one you should be saying that to."
I take a deep breath and try to calm down. Why didn't I feel it like last time? Is there some distance limit or was I too focused on finding the backer?

"How long has she been out?"
"A few hours. I'm sure she won't be out for long. But...should I stay or do you want to nurse her yourself?"
