Double-crossThe edge of the sun's disc had just begun to appear over the tops of the mountains as the group, carrying the bags containing the eggs reached the bank of the stream. They had still not seen or heard anything of the pursuit, but slid down the bank and into the water with alacrity.
Again all of them gasped at the coldness of the water. This stream must have its source under the mountains not too far away from the dragons' lair to still be as cold as this in Zoldar. It would soon be Candar and the Solstice, thought Asphodel.
