SECOND MEET

"You are right," I said. But the truth is, I'm trying to create a new plot for my story and then successfully write at least one chapter. "Come with me tonight?" Anne winked at me when saying this. I frowned and asked her, "Why? And where?" "Johnny and I will celebrate our two-monthsary. Of course, you are my best buddy, so I want you to be there." It was Anne who made it clear that we both understood how important it was for me to be there to keep her parents from getting on her case. We were on the same page about that. Her mother's strictness likely stemmed from her father's job as a policeman, which made her extra cautious about how their kids behaved "But I don't have extra money for now," I said. "Don't worry, I can take care of it; just go with me, okay?" She said. Anne is known for her kindness. However, her mind is frequently filled with trivial thoughts, causing her parents to doubt her reliability. As a result, I decided to accompany them after the completion of our preliminary exams. In the evening, Anne invited me to go to an EXO bar with her boyfriend, Johnny. So much time for drinks, dancing, and laughing. But this time, no more hot guys were on the stage, because it was her "baby time". What makes me surprised is, I didn't expect to see Pete again. Is he following me, or is it just a coincidence that we met here? "Hi! You're here?" I said. "Yeah, it seemed you enjoyed the night." He replied. Adorned in a striking yellow V-neck shirt and layered with a fashionable denim jacket, he exudes an extraordinary charm that captivates the attention of those in his vicinity. The carefully tailored pants he wears elegantly emphasize his attractive physique, adding to his overall appeal. The young women standing behind him can’t help but be captivated by his calm demeanor and confident vibe, which makes him effortlessly noticeable in the busy crowd. His natural charm radiates from him, drawing people in with his magnetic presence. It's no wonder that even widowed women might find themselves drawn to his charm and demeanor; he has this undeniable allure that's tough to resist. His appeal isn't just skin deep—there's something truly captivating about him that goes beyond mere looks. "Who's with you?" I asked him first. "Me? I'm with you, "he said. It is evident that he takes pleasure in teasing me, and I am constantly finding myself unable to suppress a smile whenever he engages in such behavior. Somehow, in a way that I cannot quite comprehend, he has succeeded in making me completely infatuated with him. "Hi Pete, Nice to meet you again." Anne interrupted. "Hello Anne, Thanks for inviting me last time." Pete said. "You're welcome. It's my pleasure to have your present. By the way, I have to leave, Johnny can't drive anymore. I have to drive him home." Anne said. It's not even 10 in the evening, yet Anne appears to be intentionally avoiding any interaction with me. I can't help but wonder if there was some sort of arrangement made between Pete and her that she is aware of and deliberately trying to steer clear of. "Ok, take care. Let me know once you get home," I said. Anne's smile was strained as she held Johnny close to her chest, his head resting on her shoulder. Johnny, looking like a tired child seeking comfort from his mother, nuzzled into her neck as he fought to keep his eyes open. The weight of his body in her arms made Anne feel a mixture of love and exhaustion, but she couldn't help but smile at the precious moment they were sharing together. Anne quickly departed from our table. The two were making their way unsteadily, stumbling due to Johnny's intoxication; his eyes shut as he struggled to move his feet forward. Anne attempted to assist Johnny in his state. After consuming a bucket of beer, Pete and I decide to stroll through a small park. As we walk, we engage in a conversation about our future plans and job prospects in anticipation of our upcoming graduation day. It's a relaxing and enjoyable way to unwind and discuss our aspirations for the future. "Sheila, can you be my wife?" I was taken aback by his sudden question, feeling a mix of surprise and uncertainty. The unexpected nature of his inquiry left me feeling unsure of how to respond, as it seemed to come out of nowhere. "A wife...?" "Yes, my wife. I want to marry you," As he uttered those words, a radiant smile adorned his face, illuminating the room with his infectious positivity. The sparkle in his eyes mirrored the joy he felt deep within. I couldn't help but wonder if he had any inkling of the long-standing crush I harbored for him. My heart raced with excitement, mirroring the thrill that surged through me upon hearing his words. "We're not in a relationship, and now you ask me to be your wife instead of your girlfriend?" I clarified. His smile suddenly disappeared from his face, and he said "No, I want you as my wife, not as a girlfriend." "Seriously?" I hesitated at first, filled with uncertainty, but a surge of excitement washed over me as I realized I had hit the jackpot. The thought crossed my mind - how many other girls have a crush on him? Yet, despite the competition, he chooses to flirt with me, making it clear that I am the one he envisions spending the rest of his life with. The mix of emotions swirling within me is both exhilarating and nerve-wracking, but ultimately, I can't help but feel incredibly lucky and grateful for this unexpected turn of events. "Is it a yes, right?" he wanted to clarify, smiling at me. He’s so self-assured that I can’t help but give in. Even with the chaotic noise of the busy traffic all around us, I could still hear his question loud and clear
