The show was already in full swing.
Music echoed through the venue as colorful lights swept across the stage. The crowd was alive with excitement, with people laughing, talking, and cheering as they waited for the next performance.
The atmosphere was electric.
Groups of friends stood together, taking pictures and enjoying the night. Others were closer to the stage, dancing to the music as they waited for the next act.
Meanwhile, outside the entrance, Ava and Mia finally arrived.
Mia stepped out first, looking around excitedly.
“Wow,” she said, smiling. “It's even better than I imagined.”
Ava stepped beside her and looked toward the entrance.
“You weren't joking after all.”
Mia laughed.
“I told you we'd have fun.”
Ava smiled slightly.
“Oh, please. Don't get too excited. I haven't decided that yet.”
Mia rolled her eyes.
“Whatever. Come on. Let's get inside.”
She grabbed Ava's hand and pulled her toward the entrance.
“Mia, slow down!”
“You're too slow!”
They laughed as they made their way inside.
The moment they entered, the loud music surrounded them.
Ava looked around, taking everything in.
“Okay,” she admitted. “This is actually nice.”
Mia gave her a satisfied smile.
“I knew you'd like it.”
“Maybe.”
“Definitely.”
Ava laughed.
They slowly made their way through the crowd, looking for a good place to watch the show.
“Come on,” Mia said. “Let's get closer to the stage.”
The two girls pushed their way through the crowd until they found a spot with a clear view of the stage.
Ava looked toward the performers and smiled.
For the first time that day, she felt like she could forget about everything that had happened at school.
She turned to Mia.
“You know what? Maybe coming here wasn't such a bad idea.”
Mia grinned.
“I knew you'd say that.”
“Don't get too excited,” Ava warned. “I said maybe.”
Mia laughed.
Across the venue, someone else had just arrived.
A black Lexus pulled up near the entrance.
Noah stepped out, adjusting his shirt as he looked around.
He had chosen casual clothes for the night. He didn't want anyone recognizing him or treating him differently because of his fame
.
Tonight, he just wanted to be another person in the crowd.
He glanced toward the entrance.
“I hope this night doesn't get complicated,” he muttered.
Then he walked inside.
The moment Noah entered the venue, he was surrounded by music and noise.
He looked around, trying to blend in.
He had no idea that the girl who had caught his attention earlier that day was already inside.
Then a familiar voice came from behind him.
“Thought you wouldn't come.”
Noah turned and saw Ethan walking toward him with a grin.
“Well…” Noah smiled. “Here I am.”
Ethan folded his arms.
“Still thinking about your crush?”
Noah immediately gave him a warning look.
“She’s not my crush.”
“Sure.”
Noah sighed.
“She’s just… interesting.”
Ethan laughed.
“That’s what people say when they have a crush.”
“Shut up,” Noah said, shaking his head.
Before Ethan could tease him again, someone tapped Noah on the back.
He turned.
It was Chloe.
“Hi, Noah.”
“Hi.”
Chloe smiled.
“Remember me?”
“Yeah, I do. You gave me a tour around the school.”
“I didn't know I would see you here.”
“Yeah, I didn't either.” Noah glanced around.
“Um… I gotta go now.”
“Already? But—”
Before she could finish, Noah walked away.
Chloe watched him leave with a small smile.
Just then, Noah's eyes wandered across the crowd.
And suddenly, he saw her.
Ava.
He froze.
For a moment, everything around him seemed to fade into the background.
“You've got to be kidding me,” he whispered.
Ethan noticed his expression.
“What?”
Ethan followed Noah's gaze.
“No way. That's her?”
Noah quickly turned toward him.
“Don't say anything.”
Ethan grinned.
“Your crush is here?”
“She’s not my—”
Before Noah could finish, Ava turned around.
Their eyes met.
Ava's expression changed immediately.
“Oh, you've got to be kidding me right now,” she muttered.
Mia noticed her reaction and turned around.
“Oh my goodness. The newbie's here?”
“Unfortunately,” Ava replied.
Mia smiled.
“This is getting interesting.”
“It’s not,” Ava said, rolling her eyes.
“Then why are you staring at him?”
Ava quickly looked away.
“I wasn't.”
Mia gave her a knowing smile.
“I see.”
Meanwhile, Noah was still looking at Ava.
Ethan nudged him.
“Go talk to her.”
“No.”
“Why?”
“She already thinks I'm annoying.”
Ethan raised an eyebrow.
“Really? What did you do?”
Noah sighed.
“She bumped into me and her notes fell. I didn't help her pick them up.”
Ethan stared at him.
“That's dumb. Go prove her wrong.”
“You aren't going to let me be right, are you?”
“Nope.”
Noah sighed.
Finally, he started walking toward Ava.
Ava noticed him coming.
“Mia?”
“Hmm?”
“He's coming.”
Mia smiled.
“Are you scared or something?”
“Of course not!”
“Good.”
Noah stopped in front of them.
For a moment, neither of them said anything.
Finally, Noah spoke.
“Hi.”
Ava crossed her arms.
“You again.”
Noah smiled slightly.
“You sound disappointed.”
“Why wouldn't I be?”
Mia covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.
Noah chuckled.
“I didn't know I would meet you here.”
“I didn't know you were coming either.”
“I guess we're both unlucky tonight.”
Ava raised an eyebrow.
“Unlucky?”
Noah sighed.
“Okay. That came out wrong.”
Ava stared at him.
Noah took a breath.
“I actually walked over here to apologize.”
“Apologize?”
“Yeah.”
“For what exactly?”
“For walking away the other time we met.”
Ava's expression softened slightly.
“I know you needed my help with those notes instead of just walking away.”
“You did walk away,” Ava reminded him.
“Yeah, I know.”
“You left me standing there looking stupid.”
“I know that too.”
Ava stared at him.
Noah continued.
“I wasn't trying to be rude. I just… had somewhere else to be.”
“So you couldn't spare a minute?”
Noah nodded.
“You're right. I should have handled it differently.”
He paused.
“I'm sorry.”
Ava didn't respond immediately.
Mia looked between the two of them, clearly enjoying the moment.
“Wow…”
Ava glanced at her.
“What?”
“Nothing. I'm just impressed. He actually apologized. See? I told you he's not bad.”
Noah chuckled.
“I can hear you, you know.”
Mia smiled.
“I know.”
Ava finally turned back to Noah.
“Fine. Apology accepted.”
Noah smiled.
“Thank you.”
“But don't think we're friends.”
“I wasn't expecting that far.”
“Good.”
Noah nodded.
“Maybe acquaintances?”
Ava rolled her eyes.
“We'll see about that.”
“I'll take that.”
Noah smiled.
“I didn't get the chance to know your name earlier. Can I know your name?”
“Ava. That's my name.”
Mia quickly added, “And I'm Mia.”
Ava snapped her head toward her.
“Seriously?”
Mia shrugged.
“What?”
Noah smiled at the two friends.
“I'll see you guys at school tomorrow.”
“Yeah, nice meeting you,” Mia said.
Noah looked at Ava.
“Bye, Ava.”
He waved as he walked away.
The moment he disappeared into the crowd, Mia gasped.
“Oh my gosh!”
Ava shook her head.
“Come on. We're leaving.”
She walked toward the exit.
“Wait up!” Mia called, hurrying after her.
Later That Night
Ava finally arrived home.
She dropped her bag onto the couch and let out a tired sigh.
She stood there for a moment, thinking about the night.
But somehow, her thoughts returned to Noah.
She remembered the way he'd approached her.
The apology.
The way he'd admitted that he had been wrong.
A small smile appeared on her face.
“I guess he's not so bad after all.”
Ava immediately shook her head.
She wasn't ready to admit it yet.
But deep down, she knew one thing.
Her first impression of Noah had been wrong
