If there was one thing that Samantha Grayson hated more that being provoked, it was name-calling; being called a psycho, people referring her as a sick, twisted person. She was excited about the possibility of meeting the daredevil known as Sasha's Van der Merwe before, but now, all she could think about was how she was going to put an end to her. She could not help herself when she saw that article, it drove her up the wall. Demi had better get her sister to remove that article before the police look into possibility of her allegations. She's lucky I don't know where she is. Samantha thought cunningly as she relaxed in the bathtub. She was still waiting to hear from Caroline's husband to deliver. Considering how leisurely he was taking this matter, it would appear that he did not care much what happened to his wife, perhaps he was dying to punish her for cheating on him and getting impregnated by another man. Men and their egos. She thought begrudgingly. She thought he was resourceful man, a man with connections; someone who always got what he wanted. What could be so difficult about tracing a bunch of street thugs? She had not spoken to her family in a long time. The last time she heard from them was when they came to see her the morning after her scandal broke out, she made it her mission to avoid them. The fact that she was in a foreign country and she could not use her usual number worked in her favour, she knew that her father would never stop calling her. Her mother had probably forgotten about her by now since she was not causing her any problems or further humiliation. Samantha was not a favourite in the family not that she cared or anything but if it were up to them they would have rather had her locked up in a mental institution. If they had a wind of what she was getting up to in South Africa, she would have given them the perfect excuse to get rid of her. Her mother has always loved Daniella more, the woman could marry as many times as she pleased and drank her kidneys away, and her mother would still choose her over everyone. Adam was born and raised to carry the family name, Samantha was a huge mistake, and the twins were a miracle, but Daniella was the golden child. It was ridiculous to think about because Daniella was the one who succeeded in tarnishing their family name every chance she got, but there was never an intervention for her. Samantha was going to raise the family tree, she wondered how they would react when she returned to London with Jorge Billings as her husband. A dreamy smile adorned her face, but her bubble was bursted by a loud commotion downstairs. She only hoped that the mayor was not stupid enough to attempt rescuing his wife. She got out of the bathtub and wore a gown and slippers, and then leisurely walked out of the room and down the stairs. If he even dares to step on my toes, I might just decide to take another life with his gun. She thought as her hand gripped the metal in the pocket of her gown. She was disappointed, however, when she walked into the sitting room and found Demi packing up her stuff. There was no sign of Caroline Becker, but there was a strange man. A sexy stranger. She thought, but she did not quite like him, his stance alone was intimidating. He was handsome, well-built, and his entire being wreaked of danger. "Demi, what's going on here?" She asked, her eyes pinned on the man. Demi threw her an apologetic look. "Uhm... Samantha, this is my husband, Shaka," Demi said hastily. Samantha frowned, she did not even know that Demi was married. She was about to respond when Caroline came downstairs, and she did not miss the cold stares between Demi's husband and the doctor. "Anyway, I'd better get going, I'll see you guys soon." Demi and her husband left without another word, and everyone else went into hiding, leaving Samantha alone in the sitting room. She went back upstairs and arrived just in time before the phone stopped ringing. It was the doctor's phone, and she had no doubt it was her husband calling. What's with these women and their men? She wondered grimly as she picked up the phone as soon as it rang again. "Mr Mayor, I hope you have some good news for me," she answered. "I want to speak to my wife first," he demanded. Samantha sighed tiredly, sitting at the dressing table. "I'll let you speak to your wife as soon as the job is done." She could imagine him clenching his fists. "I need to accompany her to the hospital tomorrow, she has an appointment with the gynaecologist." "Oh, well... that shouldn't be a problem, just forward me the details and I'll take her there myself." She had no intentions of taking the woman to the hospital, but she wanted to see Jorge and the good doctor was her ticket into that room. There was silence on the other side before he spoke again. "What should I do with this man in the meantime?" "That's simple, wait for my instructions." She hung up before he could utter another word. She was enjoying this, being in control, having everyone's lives in her hands. One thing about Samantha that distinguished her from most people she had encountered along the way was that she knew what she wanted, and most of all, she was willing to do anything it took to get it. It was no surprise that she was eager to accompany the doctor to her checkup at the hospital. For a moment, she thought not having Demi around was a huge loss because Demi seemed to have connections at the hospital. But now she had a whole doctor who used to work there, what more could she ask for? She was going to see Jorge, and this time, not even his fake fiancée could stop her.
