Cameron watched the entire day as Montana ran around the house and kept the staff on their toes in order to achieve her perfect dinner. The moment she walked through that door with her smile reaching her eyes, he knew something was wrong. Montana was only ever too happy if she had ruined someone's day or life all together. Whatever she did before she came home must have had a adrenaline pumping. Cameron turned to Chad who was seated at the dinner table while doing his school work. He went to the kitchen and got him cookies and a glass of milk. "Hey, boy," he greeted as he placed the food in front of Chad and then sat down. "Hello, Uncle Cam." "Come on, take a break, you've been staring at your books for hours now." Chad put his books aside and pulled the plate closer. "Baie dankie, Oom (Thank you, uncle)," Chad said. Cameron smiled. "You are welcome." He watched as the boy enjoyed his snack. "Did you have a great time today?" Cameron asked. Chad shrugged and then shook his head. "Why not? Didn't your mom take you to a nice restaurant for breakfast." "No. We went to her friend's place." Cameron frowned, Montana had no friends, not even one. "Really? Was there anyone you knew there?" He asked. "Well..." the boy said thoughtfully, "I saw Keagan's girlfriend." "Shannon?" Chad nodded eagerly. Damn you, Montana! Cameron thought. He could not believe she went to flaunt Chad in the Botha's faces. "We didn't stay long though, we went to Uncle Logan's café," Chad said with newfound excitement. "La Café?" Chad nodded. "Uh huh! They were giving away free food today." "Was your uncle there?" "No, but mom was talking to the old lady." Cameron was about to ask Chad if he was talking about Mrs dos Santos, when Montana appeared. "Chad, are you finished with your homework?" She asked while standing at the centre of the room with her arms folded. "No, mom!" Chad said and pulled back his books. "Finish up!" Montana ordered. Cameron took the empty plate and glass and went to the kitchen, and he was not surprised when Montana tailed him. "What do you think you are doing?" She asked, standing in the doorway. Cameron ignored her and washed the plate and glass, and then he turned to her. "What does it look like? I was giving my nephew some cookies and milk for energy, he's been reading all day," he said and walked past her, bumping her shoulder on the way. "Oh, and Montana?" He said over his shoulder, "I hope this doesn't blow up in your face." She hissed in response and disappeared into the kitchen. Cameron went upstairs to shower and came back to watch TV, it was past 6p.m. and Montana was setting up the dinner table. Chad was long done with his schoolwork and had showered. Cameron couldn't stop thinking about Montana's visit to the cafe, more especially now that she was convinced that Logan was coming home, she had probably told Antonina something about Logan that could jeopardise their relationship. He could already feel the storm brewing. "Pssst... Chad, come over here!" He called while connecting the playstation, he did not want Chad to be anywhere near the dining room when Logan arrives. They played games for a while, and then when the clock turned to 7:30p.m., a car hooter sounded outside, and Cameron knew Logan was here. Montana was so excited, she was even dressed in an evening gown for the dinner. Cameron did not wish her any bad, but if she did what he thought she did, then he prayed that Logan set her and the entire house on fire. The main entrance opened and Montana popped a bottle of champagne. "Surprise!" She squealed in delight. Logan walked into the house, his face stoic. "Uncle Logan!" Chad got up and ran towards Logan, throwing himself at him. Logan closed his eyes and drew in a sharp breath. "Chad, go to your room," he said in a low chilling voice. "But uncle-" "Now." Chad swallowed and looked at Cameron, a frown on his face. Cameron nodded at him to go ahead, he ran up the stairs, and he was gone, Logan strode towards Montana and took the bottle of champagne out of her hand. "I see you went all out," he muttered, his eyes trailing over the dinner table in disdain. Montana smiled warily. "I wanted to give you a warm welcome home," she said. Logan scoffed. "Really? Well, thank you, dear sister. Thank you for making it so easy for me." Montana opened her mouth to say something, but could only manage to let out a choked gasp as the champagne dripped down her body as Logan held the bottle over her head, pouring down the drink leisurely to the last drop. Silence followed before Logan smashed the empty bottle against the wall, causing both Cameron and Montana to jump in fright. He moved across the table and picked another bottle of champagne, this time sealed, and then smashed it against the wall. Montana yelped and ran towards Cameron. "Cameron, do something!" She said in panic, her body shivering due to the fear and the coldness of the champagne. Cameron ignored her and stepped away from her, he did not want to be standing next to her just in case Logan decided to throw the food at her or smash another bottle on her head. "You cooked a feast, a feast to celebrate what, ruining my life?" Logan yelled, his voice shaking the room, and then he stood at the head of the table, his palms resting on each end. He looked calm for a second before he lost it again, pulling down everything on the table in one swift move. Montana screamed, causing Cameron to cover his ears, and then she moved towards Logan. "Are you crazy?!" She yelled, pulling at her hair, her eyes wild. "Do you have any idea how long it took me to prepare that?" "To hell with you and your cooking! Do you think I care?" Logan yelled back. "I work hard day in day out, and still have to sacrifice my time in order to clean up your f*****g mess, and the first chance you get, you set out to ruin my life!" "I just wanted you to come home! You don't belong with that crazy woman!" "That crazy woman supported me at my lowest, dammit!" Cameron had no idea what to do or say, the tension in the house was too much to deal with, to top it off, Logan looked torn more than he was furious. "Have you ever for a second asked yourself why I did not want to stay here?" Logan asked quietly. "Logan-" "Montana, keep pushing me. I dare you to keep meddling in my life, and I promise you, I'll send you back to the loony bin I dug you out from." He turned around and walked up the stairs, he looked completely drained. Cameron turned to Montana who was as pale as ash. "Are you happy now?" He asked. She turned to him with panicked eyes. "Cameron, please don't let him send me back to the mental hospital!" He shook his head. "You should have thought about that before you went out there to provoke Logan. You say you wanted him to come home, does everything have to be a game for you, Montana? What happened to talking? Couldn't you have called or sent a message like a normal person?" He snorted. Why did he even bother? Montana was not normal, she belonged in a psychiatric clinic, and as long as she was out there in the world, she was bound to cause trouble.
