Leaving the hospital felt like a drag, like she was just putting one foot after the other for the sake of movement. They had to pick up the kids from school, Lola had said. Shannon had the right mind to tell her that she did not have any kids, but she kept her lips sealed. She did not want to leave Sonya by herself, especially with that scary guy she was with.
