Li Ye could clearly feel a faint sense of repulsion from this unknown space, and it seemed that this repulsion was gradually increasing as time passed.
As long as the black hole existed, Li Ye could return to the Earth world at any time, which reassured him somewhat.
"However, the constant presence of this black hole is troublesome. It would be better if I could temporarily close it and reopen it when needed," Li Ye murmured to himself.
Just as he finished speaking, the black hole began to shrink slowly under his astonished gaze until it was almost imperceptible to the naked eye.
His expression changed immediately. He quickly called upon the black hole to appear again in his mind. Sure enough, under his gaze, the vanished black hole slowly expanded once more, returning to its original state.
"How miraculous! What on earth is this black hole?" Li Ye's narrow eyes flashed with a trace of insight. He sensed something, but couldn't quite grasp it. However, he was certain that his life would undergo earth-shaking changes because of this black hole!
"Since you seem to be so responsive to my thoughts, and you are a portal connecting two worlds, I will call you the Portal of Wishes from now on," Li Ye said softly.
After retracting the Portal of Wishes once again, Li Ye shifted his focus to exploring this unknown and mysterious world.
He could sense that he couldn't stay in this world for long, so the first thing he needed to do was to figure out what kind of place this was.
Unfortunately, the Portal of Wishes hadn't transported him to a gathering place of higher intelligent life forms, but rather had dumped him in this deep mountain forest.
God knows what dangers lurk within this jungle.
However, Li Ye wasn't particularly concerned about safety issues. With the Portal of Wishes at hand, he could easily open it and return to Earth at the first sign of danger.
The pain throughout his body had subsided somewhat, allowing Li Ye to navigate through the forest with some difficulty.
He needed to leave this jungle as soon as possible and find the gathering place of higher intelligent life forms to understand everything about this place.
Li Ye took a deep breath and carefully examined the dense foliage around him, slowly making his way in the direction where the foliage was thickest.
At noon, with the scorching sun directly overhead, it was almost impossible to discern direction using sunlight alone. Li Ye had to rely on identifying plant patterns.
Generally, higher intelligent life forms had an affinity for sunlight and preferred sunny areas over shaded ones. Following the direction where the sun shone brightest should lead him in the right direction.
Li Ye judged everything according to human thinking, but in this world, who knows what it could be like? However, he had no better options at the moment, so he could only explore blindly like a blind man feeling his way forward.
"Hmm? What's that..."
Carefully navigating through the jungle for several kilometers, Li Ye suddenly caught a glimpse of a black light flashing in the corner of his eye.
He fixed his gaze on the black light and realized it was a long sword deeply embedded in the trunk of a tree.
Li Ye approached cautiously and examined the ancient long sword carefully. He attempted to pull the sword out from the tree trunk with all his might but made no progress, so he gave up.
The ancient sword was entirely black, less than three feet long, with intricate runes engraved on the blade and characters similar to ancient Chinese seal script carved on the hilt.
Li Ye scrutinized it for a long time and could discern the characters "Purple Cloud."
Although he hadn't encountered the higher intelligent life forms of this world yet, Li Ye had already deduced several useful pieces of information from this discovered ancient sword.
This world had humans, and it seemed to be in a Cold Weapon Era similar to ancient Earth.
The ancient sword was forcefully thrust into the tree trunk, indicating that the physique of humans in this world should be extremely powerful, at least much stronger than those on Earth.
A world of martial arts? Or perhaps a world of cultivation?
Li Ye's heart surged with excitement. In the highly developed world of Earth's internet, he had encountered these things frequently.
Flying with swords, projecting the spiritual essence, these mystical abilities had always been a source of admiration and envy for Li Ye.
Since he found the ancient sword in this area, its owner should be nearby!
Li Ye's heart leaped with joy, and he carefully searched his surroundings. Finally, he found the owner of the ancient sword.
To be more precise, it was the corpse of the owner of the ancient sword.
The corpse lay in a chaotic patch of grass just a dozen yards away from the ancient sword. It appeared to be that of a young man.
He was dressed in a purple robe similar to those worn in ancient China, drenched in blood from head to toe. There seemed to be bite marks on his neck, and fresh blood was still slowly trickling from the wound.
The man had died not long ago.
Li Ye frowned and scanned his surroundings warily. He quickly searched the corpse, hoping to find something useful.
"Storage pouch?!"
Li Ye's eyes lit up. Tied around the corpse's waist was a purple storage pouch. It didn't seem particularly remarkable from the outside, so Li Ye hadn't noticed it at first.
He hastily tore the pouch from the corpse's waist and was about to open it to inspect its contents when he heard a hoarse, wolf-like growl from behind.
"Awooo!"
"Hmph! I knew you filthy beast hadn't left yet."
Li Ye sneered inwardly. He had been wary since the corpse had recently died. Upon hearing the beast-like sound behind him, his entire body tensed, and he swiftly turned around with force from his waist!
His gaze locked onto the tangled thicket of grass.
Within the thicket, a beast about the size of a calf stared at him with its crimson, merciless eyes.
Damn?! What kind of creature is this?!
Li Ye's expression changed drastically. He had never seen such a beast before!
The creature resembled an antelope, but it was definitely not the same type of animal as an antelope.
Antelopes were gentle herbivores, but the fangs protruding from this creature's mouth were a clear indication that it was not a vegetarian!
The crimson blood on its protruding fangs must have come from the blood of the person on the corpse.
The fatal wound on the corpse was clearly the one on the throat. Li Ye swallowed hard, his nerves stretched to the limit.
If he were bitten by this terrifying beast resembling an antelope, he would have no chance of resistance whatsoever and would likely be killed instantly!
Cold sweat covered his forehead as he stared intently at the antelope-like monster emerging from the thicket.
The antelope-like monster had sturdy limbs, with bone spurs growing at the joints, emitting a chilling bloodthirsty aura under the blazing sun.
Its claws resembled those of a tiger, sharp enough to pierce through Li Ye's thin and weak body!
What should he do now? What should he do?!!
Li Ye's face turned pale. What kind of world was this?! He had only encountered this type of monster in fantasy novels on the internet!
Now it was standing right in front of him! And judging by its changing gaze, it seemed quite interested in him.
This was just too much to bear!
Was he going to die before achieving anything? Just as he had obtained the legendary protagonist aura and golden finger, was he about to perish in the jaws of this cursed creature?!
Li Ye refused to accept this!
He didn't dare to make a move. The antelope-like monster snorted and shook its massive head, seemingly impatient with the standoff with Li Ye.
Roar!
It let out a fierce roar, as a faint red glow emanated from its protruding, ferocious fangs above its blood-filled mouth. With a powerful stomp of its limbs on the ground, its sharp claws tore up clouds of dust from the earth.
Its massive body leaped high into the air, tracing an arc as it flew towards Li Ye, viciously aiming to bite his neck!
Li Ye's face turned pale. With a forceful push from his feet, he barely managed to sidestep two steps to narrowly avoid the attack!
"Damn it! Ruyi Gate!!!"
Li Ye shouted suddenly, raising his right hand swiftly. The black hole in the palm of his hand began to spin violently. Without any hesitation, Li Ye slammed his hand hard against his forehead.
Realizing he couldn't confront this terrifying antelope-like monster, Li Ye knew he had to quickly escape back to Earth!
As the monstrous creature roared once again, just as Li Ye's body was about to disappear, its blood-filled mouth snapped shut, viciously biting down on Li Ye's pants leg.
This was bad!!!
