I stood abruptly, making Kaelith and Jax jump slightly. I was staring off into space. My mind racing a hundred miles a second, unable to process the thoughts that were speeding passed. My eyes darted back and forth, like they were trying to track the thoughts racing too fast to catch. I am unable to comprehend what I just heard Kaelith say. More so than what I just read on the marriage contract and the conservatorship.
“I… uh… I need to get ready to meet with Dr. Hale,” I said and started to walk toward the study doors. Passing in front of Kealith and Holt.
I heard Kealith stand and say, “You’re meeting with Hale now?”
