Chapter Nine- Brandon POV

1041 Words
I had to leave right away or I wouldn’t have been able to leave her. She wasn’t at all what I expected. She was so beautiful, her long red hair tumbling down her back. She had the most exotic looking eyes I have ever seen. They were the most alluring green eyes. She was such an innocent soul, I couldn’t help but be drawn to her. Rose wasn’t like the other she-wolves. She was delicate, beautiful, and shy. My mate was special and made for just me.      I ran all the way to the pack house, shifting behind a tree and grabbing some clothes in a basket we always keep. I put on some shorts and a t-shirt. My mom came rushing out.     “Brandon Marcus Peirce, how dare you not tell me that you are home. Did you not miss your Mother?” She asked, being dramatic as usual. My mom was the best, but she was definitely a drama queen.      “Mom, stop being dramatic, I wasn’t expecting to find my mate so soon. Adonis was running because I was pissed off at the gates. So I shifted to run. He caught her scent and went for her.” I said calmly.     “How is the poor dear? Your sister told me her parents pulled Rose out of school because her math teacher had some weird obsession with her.” She asked.      Rose, nor Darrell told me anything about this. I couldn’t suppress my growl, hearing not only that a teacher made my sweet mate uncomfortable, but that he is obsessed with her.      “They all seemed a little stressed by it all. Has Dad said anything about this teacher?” I asked her.     “According to Max, the teacher never returned to school after he found out that Rose would be homeschooled for the rest of her senior year. The poor thing, Rose really is just the sweetest person. All of the children at the daycare absolutely adore her. She works there all week. Riley is now in Preschool and talks nonstop about Ms. Rose. I go there and read to the children throughout the week and I see how much all the kids love her. She didn’t deserve to have any of the harassment that teacher did. Luckily there is only five month left of the school year.” She said.     This was unsettling to find out about this teacher. I know Rose said she was mad about having to be homeschooled. I had just assumed that it was because of her gaining her magic. I didn’t know that there was even more of an issue. Why didn’t she tell me about him? Does she not trust us?     “She is going through a lot of adjustments Bran, just give her some time to open up to us and explain things. Jasmine told me that Rose was so happy to see you. That as soon as we left she was sad.” Adonis said. I muttered a thanks, still deep in thought.     “Come on let’s go inside and see your father. He is waiting in his office.” She said, I jested for her to lead the way.     We went up the two flights of stairs and turned left, walking to my Dad’s office. My mom didn’t bother knocking, she just opened the door and walked in. She kissed my dad on the cheek and stood behind him. My dad looked up at me and smiled.     “The next Alpha has finally returned home!” He said excitedly.     “I have Father and we have things we need to discuss.” I said.     “Oh? You’ve only just got here and you want to talk business?” He asked.     “Yes dad, you know when I got here there was only one guard at the gate. The three others were sharing a she-wolf in the woods? Dad is that all it takes to distract our men now? What if an enemy clan knew that our warriors we’re this weak?” I said, frustrated with his nonchalant personality with this.      “Unfortunately my head warrior has quit unexpectedly, and I have other matters that I need to focus on right now.” He said, but I didn’t like how he was talking about Rose’s father.      “Darrell has his own issues he is trying to handle. I will talk to him about returning. I will also help with training and maintaining in between getting to know my mate. But you need to address this father, you are Alpha.” I said sternly.      “Okay I will speak to the pack tomorrow around 2, if my beautiful Luna would be so kind to set it all up. Now I have more things to work on, so if you are done lecturing me son, you can leave.” He said clearly annoyed but distracted.      “What other issues?” I said looking him straight in the eyes.      “Ugh, well to be frank the businesses we own outside of pack lands are becoming a pain in my ass. Someone is attacking and killing our workers, human or wolf. They are just killing them. The last one left a message written in blood on the wall.” He said, looking more and more tired.      “What was the message?” I asked, my stomach turning because I already had an idea.      “She will be ours.” He whispered.      I just stood there frozen, they are looking for my mate, I know it. Innocent people are dying.     “Next time there is an attack let me go check it out. Adonis said he can help track the culprit doing all this.” I said confidently. I will hunt down whoever is responsible for this.      My father nodded. As I made my way to the door to walk out, I got a mindlink.     “Alpha, it’s Darrell, I need you to come back to the house. We can’t calm Rose down. She is getting very worked up.”     “I will be right there.” I said, closing the link and rushing out of the pack house. I shifted and began to run towards their house as fast as I could.
