Chapter Twenty-Two- Rose POV

993 Words
I woke up in complete darkness, I tried calling out to anyone and everyone. It was radio silence. I couldn’t even mindlink anyone. I was completely alone. I began to panic but then I saw a bright light at the other end of the darkness. I decided to go that way. I for some reason was no longer afraid, I felt peaceful and calm.     I walked into the light and it was like walking into a fairytale land. I could smell water and moss. The trees were tall and white, a beautiful waterfall in the distance. In the middle of a field of wildflowers was a beautiful woman sitting at a table, sipping her tea. She looked young, but there was great power in her aura.  She had long jet-black hair and the brightest green eyes I have ever seen.     “Hello.” I said to her.     “Hello my child, I am so glad you finally joined me. How was the journey?” She asked, warmly.     “Okay, I guess. Umm who are you?” I asked.     She just smiled at me and realization set in. I bowed my head to her.     “The Moon Goddess, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean any disrespect.” I said to her.     “Oh my child, stop bowing, everything is fine. I brought you here for a reason. Besides it’s not every day that I am accompanied by my great great, some removed, great granddaughter. And the granddaughter that is the Jade Wolf.” She said.     “Moon Goddess am I dead?” I asked.      “Oh my child no you are very much alive, I just needed to be able to talk to you. This was the only way that I could. There is a battle that will be coming for you. You and your Wolf need to bond and work completely together to win this. The Warlock that wants you, he is dangerous and over a thousand years old.” She said, concerned in her voice.     “Can’t you just deal with him? I’m not strong enough.” I said, worried about all the people who might die because of this.     “I can’t get involved in the human world, what has been decided has been decided. But I can give you help and guidance that you will need to succeed.” She said.     I just nodded. Trying to hold myself together. She can’t save us, and there is going to be a battle. Maybe it would be best if I surrender myself to this warlock. Spare everyone else.       “My child you need to stop thinking like that. Do you really believe surrendering yourself to a power hungry warlock will spare anyone? It won’t, you’ll be locked away until you give him a child and he steals your powers. Then he will kill you and the child because he can’t have anyone challenge him. He will kill everyone. You need to do this.” She said very sternly to me.     “What do I need to do?” I said as I realized how sick this guy is. He needs to go once and for all. Hearing that he is willing to kill children was enough for me.     “You need to spend time with your Wolf Jasmine, she will be able to help you come completely into your powers. You both need to be at your strongest possible. You need to prepare your lands for war. Most of all you need to be ready to take lives. No matter how much someone begs you or pleads saying they will change. I promise you they will not change. Kill them all and save the rest of my Night Children. Everyone’s fate is now in your hands.” She said stand up and began walking away.      “Wait where are you going? How do I go back home?”     “I am leaving now so you can speak with Jasmine alone, making sure you both are ready. Then she will tell you how to wake up. I will be seeing you again my Child. Good luck and know I am with you.” She said.     In her place appeared the most beautiful white wolf, I recognized her immediately. Jasmine.     “Hello Rose.” She said.      “Hey Jasmine, are you ready for this?”     “This will be my second great battle and I’m thankful this time I have you, Rose.” She said as I looked down at my hands.      “Rose, you are a lot stronger and capable than you know. Once you learn to believe in yourself and trust yourself will we reach our full potential.” She said to me.     “I will do whatever is necessary. I promise. If I ever feel in doubt or unsure I will call out to you for support.” I said.      “Good, now close your eyes and will yourself to wake up. I will be in your mind helping you through it all. You’ve been gone for sometime and it's making your family worry. We will get everything ready for what is to come.” She said.     I felt myself plunge into darkness again. Then my eyes shot open and I took a deep breath. The light was too bright for my eyes so I closed them again. I could hear all the voices around me speaking but it wasn’t registering my brain yet.      I laid there blinking, then I sat up and noticed I was hooked to some machines. I was in the hospital. Everyone around me looks like they have been crying and haven’t slept in days.     “Hi guys.” I said, smiling. Everyone laughed and rushed to my side. Everyone was so happy to see me awake again. Their faces brought me warmth and joy.     Then I remembered and my smile began to fade. The Moon Goddess’s voice resonated in my head:     Prepare your lands for war.
