The Jade Wolf Prophecy

Chapter Two- Rose POV

    My day ended up being amazing. All the children made me laugh and helped me make up for the crappy morning. I was upstairs in my room completing my homework, waiting for dinner. I could hear my dad yelling, I can only assume that it’s because my mom is telling him what happened. My dad is very protective of me and the first time Mr. Russels started harassing me, my dad showed up at the school and threatened to kill my teacher. He has begged me to do homeschooling, but to be completely honest I love going to school. If I could get past Mr. Russel, I would enjoy all of my other classes. 

    Next thing I heard was the doorbell ringing. I am sure it is just Mr. Stevenson coming over. 

    “Hey honey, your father and I are going to talk with Max and Molly about today. From there we will come up with a plan for you. I will call you when we are done. We will all have dinner together, once Alicia is here.” My mom said, standing in my doorway.

    “Okay mom sounds good. I will finish up my homework then.” I smiled at her, thinking about how I really have the best mom ever.

    As I was finishing my last assignment I could hear the four adults whispering, I wish I knew what they were saying. At this point, should I go downstairs or eavesdrop, I asked myself, but I decided to just finish my homework. Next thing I know, I can suddenly hear what they are saying plain as day.

    “She deserves to know Linda. Whether you like it or not it is her life. Let her help us come to a decision, but either way she can be in danger.”

    “But she is my baby.” It sounded like my mom was crying.

    “I know you guys love her, but if you haven’t noticed she isn’t a baby anymore.  She needs to grow up at some point. In less than two weeks she will have her powers and they need to be hidden.” Molly said, Max’s mate. 

    What powers, what are they talking about? Witches and werewolves do not get along at all. There was a war that divided us from each other. Even though our Moon Goddess was a werewolf that also possessed powers. All of us night children belong to her. They said that during the Great Battle she wept over her children fighting.

    “Rose, could you please come down here. We need to talk.” My father said. Worried I was in trouble I rushed downstairs. 

    I noticed everyone gathered in our big kitchen, around our big island. I decided to take a seat on the bar stool. I could feel the tension in the room. My mom was crying, my dad wouldn’t look at me, he seemed deep in thought. Mr. Stevenson looked tensed and worried, probably over my dad’s reaction. However, Molly was smiling kindly at me. 

    “Rose we need to speak with you. Please just listen, after we are done you can ask any questions you may have. Then we can come up with a plan for your schooling and future.” Mr. Stevenson said, in a calm voice. I nodded my head. There was a sudden pause and all the adults seemed to look at each other to see who was going to speak.

    “Honey, all of this is my fault. I am so very sorry.” My mom was crying so hard it was hard to understand her. 

    “Molly, can you please take Linda outside. So Darrell and I can speak with Rose about this. I would like this conversation done before Alicia shows up from Cheerleading practice. So we have less than an hour and a half.”

    Molly and my mom left the room. My dad finally looked at me, I could see the worry in his eyes. But I could suddenly feel his distress, pain, frustration, and rage he was feeling.

    “I am sorry, am I in trouble from what happened today? If so I will never yell at my teacher again. I am so sorry. Daddy, please don’t be mad at me.” I said staring at my dad. His expression changed to shock. 

    “Rose we aren’t mad at you at all. We are worried about your safety.” My father said.

    “Why?” I suddenly had a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach.

    “Rose as you know, your birthday is coming up. You’re coming of age and you will be gaining your wolf. You will also be gaining your powers then as well.”

    “What powers? I don’t have any powers. I am a normal wolf.” I yelled.

    “Rose calm down. You are okay, only us and now you know what you are. But you will have powers. According to your mom, your powers are already so strong that they cannot suppress them much longer. Your mother was once a witch, but her jealous sister took her powers from her and tried to kill her. The Moon Goddess loved your mother so much that she gave your mother some of her powers back to protect you from her sister, but also gave her a wolf so she could find a mate. Your aunt is a very dangerous and dark witch. She tried k********g you when you were a baby. Your mom was able to conceal your powers for the longest time, but she can’t do it anymore. You are too strong for her now. With this being said, other dangers are looking for you also. A half witch and half wolf hybrid, you are capable of great things. But you cannot tell anyone until you are strong enough both as a wolf and as a witch.”

    “This cannot be real. Members of the pack will try to kill me. They hate witches.” I am full on panicking. What am i going to do? Are they going to send me away now?

    “We will have someone portal here and train you to help with your magic, but I will help you train physically in human and wolf form. Whether any of us like it or not, you are in danger and you need to be ready.” 

    “I am not a fighter, I am quiet and like being home. I hardly raise my voice. I haven’t even been in a fight yet. You guys are wrong. You guys are wrong, maybe they switched babies at the hospital when I was born.” I said quickly, hoping they would end this conversation. 

    “You are our child and you do have magic. It is so strong I can get hit by it in waves.” My father said.

    “And here I thought my biggest worry was about Mr. Russels hating me so much.”

    “Well that is a big concern. I had a hunch after we talked and you said he harassed you. I decided to talk with your class and they all confirmed that Mr. Russels goes out of his way to find you and know where you are. If another student spoke out for you, Mr. Russels about you, he would punish them with more homework, detention, or even lie to me and say they did something wrong, when they didn’t. So I decided to call him into my office and say you would not be coming back to school at all. He started yelling and cursing, yelling ‘this will not do’. Then left school grounds, even though he had other classes for the rest of the day.” Said Mr. Stevenson.

    “Why would he care if I don’t return to school, he literally hates me, even my friends confirmed it.” I replied.

    “We honestly have no idea. We will do an investigation quietly to see what we find. Since he is human, I don’t think it is to much of a concern right now.  However,I will report to your parents anything I find.” Said Mr. Stevenson. My father and I both nodded to him.

    “Rose, for right now just focus on your training and magic. Your mom and I will help you the best we can.” My dad said quickly changing the subject. For some reason  conversations regarding Mr. Russels has always puts my dad on edge.

    “So you do not hate witches? You don’t hate me for being part witch? Wait, you and mom were friends in high school, did you know she was a witch?” I asked, I still wanted to have my friends and to feel welcomed within our pack.

     Mr. Stevenson smiled to himself and chuckled before replying to me.

    “Our history is a bit more complicated. Yes I knew she was a witch, but all of us were part of a different pack then. The school we attended was full of only the Goddess’s children. I always had a crush on your mom. Mostly her goodness. She lights up the room when she enters, she could bring plants back to life, but she is also an Empathetic, so the heavy emotions she felt from others would take a toll on her, but she was happy to make everyone else happy. Then the battle happened and I found Molly my mate on the battle grounds. She was part of this pack so I agreed to move here. Your aunt took advantage of the battle and when everyone of their coven was focused on that, your Aunt attacked your mom and took over the coven. Your aunt went mad with power really. So after that your mom was turned to a wolf like us. Then she found your father. They got pregnant with you. What a grand day that was. But your power was so great that your Aunt found you and tried to kidnap you. After that I asked Alpha Pierce to accept you all into this pack. He agreed and you have been hidden ever since.” Mr. Stevenson said.

    To find out there is a whole part of my life I didn’t even know about was absolutely terrifying. Then to find out I have a crazy, power hungry aunt who wants to do who knows what to me. Oh and my teacher is obsessed. Great. 

    “I don’t want to be homeschooled. It’s not fair that I have to change everything because of everyone else. I want to be normal!” I yelled as I ran to my room to cry
