Lucas held the card, his eyes fixed on it as he spoke. “This was supposed to be yours today, but unfortunately, you don't value or need our marriage.”
Ashley's gaze fell upon the card, and for a moment, she felt a pang of regret for cheating on Lucas. “Twenty million dollars,” she thought to herself, “that money was meant to be mine.”
Robert stood up from the ground , a sly grin spreading across his face. “HAHAHA…” he laughed, “the pauper that delivers cake, how charming,” he said, chuckling. “And supposedly, he has twenty million dollars?”
“Oh please, it is fake!” he said.
“A fake?” Ashley asked, her voice laced with doubt. “Do you really believe that, Robert?”
Robert sneered. “I know what I'm talking about. This Centurion card looks convincing, but it's not authentic. An actual Amex Centurion does not look like that.”
Lucas glanced at the card, he thought to himself. “This isn't just any Centurion card. The embroidery of chalcedony and jasper stones made it unique. And the weight alone... $10 million.”
Robert smirked, Ashley's eyes narrowed. “Are you sure, Robert?”
Robert shrugged. “I've seen enough fake cards to recognize one.” Ashley's face reddened with rage. “How dare you lie, you fucker!” she screamed, her voice echoing through the room. “I want a divorce!”
Lucas remained calm, unfazed by her outburst. “Fine,” he said, “See you in court tomorrow.”
Ashley's eyes widened, taken aback by his immediate agreement.
“This is my house,” Lucas continued, his gaze steady. “You should get the hell out!!!” he said.
Ashley's anger boiled over, “I don't want to stay in this sh88hole either,” Ashley said, and turned to Robert,
Robert grasped her arm, his eyes gleaming, and his smirk did not leave his face. “What a pity your husband won't be able to watch us,” he whispered, his voice dripping with malice. “Let's go to my place, Munchkin. We should go and continue this... what we started.”
Ashley giggled, but her eyes darted to Lucas. “Ugh, babe, why are you saying stuff like that in front of him?”
Robert's smile widened. “Why not? He's irrelevant now. We are free, my love.”
Ashley's gaze lingered on Lucas for a moment before she turned back to Robert.
“Let's go,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. As they exited, Lucas's thoughts turned inward.
He knew Ashley's true nature, but Robert's intentions worried him.
Just then, Lucas's phone rang. His sister Lois's enthusiastic voice filled the line.
“Hey Lucas!!! Happy birthday! Is Ashley there? I've got tons of gifts for her. Put her on, I want to wish her a happy birthday-in-law!”
Lucas chuckled dryly. “No need for all that, Lois. I'm getting a divorce.” Lois's tone shifted from excitement to shock. “What happened?!”
Lucas did not want to talk about it. “Let's just say Ashley doesn't want to be a poor man's wife.”
Lois gasped. “She's leaving you for money? That gold-digger!” Lucas sighed. “It's complicated, Lois. I'll explain later.”
Lois's voice softened. “Happy birthday, bro. Sorry it's ruined.”
“It’s fine,” he replied dryly.
Lois, hearing her brother’s tone, decided to help him out.” Don't worry, I will be there tomorrow to show her the meaning of money.”
The next afternoon, around 12 noon, they met at the Alabama Court. Ashley arrived in a sleek Lamborghini, Robert by her side. They strode in, hands intertwined, walking arrogantly.
Robert sneered at Lucas. “A millionaire, yet you arrive in public transport? Or did you walk? Pathetic.”
Lucas remained unfazed, his expression was stern and unreadable..
“If only you had ignored what you saw,” Robert continued, “you could have reaped some benefits. But now, you're left with nothing.”
Ashley snuggled into Robert's side. “Now we can be together without sneaking around, babe.”
Robert smiled. “Yes, it's a good thing. We don't have to worry about getting caught.’
Ashley's eyes sparkled with hatred. “How about we take pictures when we do it and send them to Lucas? So he doesn't feel lonely."
Robert chuckled. “You are a naughty munchkin, I like that.” Lucas ignored them and entered the courtroom. They followed closely behind him.
Judge Thompson reviewed the documents, then said, “Since you both had no joint property or assets during the marriage, we can proceed with the divorce. If neither party objects, please sign the documents.”
Ashley swiftly grabbed the pen, as if fearing Lucas might change his mind. Lucas took the pen and signed without a word.
“Divorce granted,” Judge Thompson declared, banging his gavel.
The courtroom fell silent. They left the courtroom.
As they got outside, Ashley turned to Robert, a triumphant smile spreading across her face.
Robert wrapped his arm around Ashley, pulling her close. They walked over to Lucas.
Robert sneered at Lucas, “I'll be generous, and overlook your stupid behavior last night. Don't delete my number. I'll send you videos of me and my munchkin making love.”
Ashley smiled, “Don't worry, you won't suffer in vain. We can send you something whenever we send a video.”
“My man is known for his generosity. The money he'll give you will be worth hundreds of deliveries,” she said. Robert chuckled.
Lucas glared at the despicable two in front of him, his anger surged over. Robert's taunting and Ashley's smug grin disgusted him. The divorce was finalized and Lucas couldn't hold back anymore.
“You f**king asked for it!” Lucas yelled, his fist connecting with Robert's face.
Robert fell to the ground, stunned.
Ashley's eyes widened in shock and rage. “How dare you hit him!” she shrieked, rushing to Robert's side.
“I don't mind hitting you.” Lucas said,
Robert’s chest heaved, his fists clenched. “You think you can humiliate me and get away with it?” he spat at Lucas.
Robert struggled to his feet, Ashley supporting him.
"You'll pay for this, Lucas!" Robert snarled, wiping blood from his lip.
Ashley's voice trembled. “We'll press charges.”
Robert's face was filled with anger as he yelled to his lawyer, “Mr James!” His voice echoed through the upscale parking lot.
“I want to sue this man for assaulting me,” Robert demanded, his eyes blazing with fury. "I'll pay you handsomely, just ensure he goes to jail!”
Mr James, a renowned lawyer, walked forward, his expression calm and collected. He bowed slightly to Robert. “Of course, sir. Let's discuss…..”
But before Mr James could continue, a loud crash interrupted them. A sleek Porsche Taycan had slammed into Ashley's new Lamborghini, sending the bumper flying.
Robert's eyes widened in horror. “MY CAR!!!!!!!!” he roared, storming towards the wrecked car.
“Who dares hit my car? Who is that? Get the hell out of the car, son of a b**ch!!!!!! My baby!!!!” he said, almost tearing up.
Robert's anger boiled over. “You i***t! You ruined my Lamborghini! Do you have any idea how much that car costs?”
