As the car reversed and parked, all eyes were drawn to the sleek vehicle. The door swung open, and a long, slim leg came out of the car. Every detail about her screamed wealth and sophistication, from her designer heels to her perfectly coiffed hair. Robert's jaw dropped, and he couldn't help but drool. His body reacted instinctively, and he felt a surge of desire. “Who is this pretty damsel?” Robert blurted out, his voice loud and awkward. Ashley glared at him and hit him slightly on his shoulder. Lois's gaze swept across all of them. As soon as she saw Liam, her piercing blue eyes sparkled. Robert assumed she was heading towards him to apologize, but instead, she suddenly turned and threw herself into Lucas's arms. “Lucas!” she exclaimed, her voice was sweet and intimate. Lucas, caught off guard, wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. “Lois! What brings you here?” Robert's face fell, disappointment and confusion were written on his face. Why was Lois so familiar with Lucas? Lois leaned back, her eyes locked on Lucas's. “I heard about your divorce. Of course, I had to come.” Robert's eyes widened in stunned silence. He couldn't believe the stunning woman standing before him was related to Lucas. Lucas and Lois shared a warm smile, their connection was obvious. Lois was Lucas's adoptive sister, though their bond was more than blood ties. Growing up together under the same roof made them have a deeper relationship than most siblings. Lois looked around, and her eyes settled on Mr James. A hint of recognition sparked in her expression. “Barrister!” she exclaimed, walking towards him. “Which firm do you work for?” Mr James, caught off guard by her keen recognition, smiled warmly. “I am a partner at Kent & Associates.” Lois extended her hand, her handshake firm. “Lois Carlton, I've heard of your firm. Excellent reputation.” Immediately, he heard her surname Carlton, his face became pale. James’s eyes widened, “Miss Carlton,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. Lois's gaze narrowed, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. “Do we know each other, Mr…” “James ma..” he replied. “Apparently you work at my sister’s firm,” she said with a smirk. “You should know what to do.” James bowed and turned to Robert. “Have a nice day sir.” he faked a smile and bowed slightly and left hurriedly. Lois's gaze shifted from Robert's pale face to Lucas's face when she noticed a scar on his forehead and a bandage at the back of his head. Her eyes narrowed, it could be seen that she was worried. “Lucas, what happened?” she asked, her voice laced with urgency. Lucas did not want Lois to find out about the scar and how he got it, but Lois's piercing gaze shows she is not ready to take nothing for an answer. “It's nothing, Lois. Just a minor accident,” he replied, attempting to downplay the severity of what happened. Lois's eyes lingered on the scar above Lucas's left eyebrow and the bandage covering the back of his head. “Minor accident?” she repeated, doubt could be seen all over her face. “Who did this to you?” Robert's unease deepened, sensing the unspoken tension between Lucas and Lois. He wondered if Lois's surname, Carlton, was related to Lois because she looked like someone powerful. Lucas hesitated before responding,” It's complicated, Lois.” Lois's jaw set, determination flashing in her eyes. “I want to know.” She turned her gaze to Robert and Ashley, she could see guilt written all over them. Lois's eyes blazed with fury as she turned to Ashley. “You did this to him?!” she spat, her voice venomous like she wanted to finish her off right there. Ashley did not back down. “Yes, I did. And what will you do about it? You're already causing a scene, and you just destroyed a car worth millions. You're asking for it.” Lois's gaze flashed at Robert, who was still gawking at her. Ashley noticed and felt a pang of jealousy. “Robert, are you with her?!!!” Ashley asked, her tone dripping with jealousy. Robert snapped out of his trance. “This has nothing to do with Robert or the car. You hurt Lucas, almost killing him! What's your problem?” Ashley sneered. Lois's anger boiled over as she moved closer to Ashley. “Do you know how much his face is worth?” she seethed, she yelled. “Women would kill to have him, and you cheated on him with... this?” She glared at Robert, disgust was written on her face. ‘What a wh**e,” she spat, shoving Ashley. “Ungrateful slut,” Lois hissed, her hand connecting with Ashley's cheek in a resounding slap. Ashley's head snapped back, shock and pain registering on her face. Robert's eyes widened, frozen in alarm. Lucas intervened, grasping Lois's arm. “Lois, stop. That's enough.” Lois shook him off, her fury still burning. “You have no idea what she's done, Lucas. She's been playing you all along.” Ashley's eyes welled up with tears, “How dare you!!!” she screamed, her face reddening. “How dare you! You hit me, b***h!” She lunged at Lois, but Lucas swiftly intervened, his arms wrapping around Lois’s waist. “Enough!” he yelled. Lois struggles against Lucas's grip, Ashley began to wail, tears streaming down her face. “Babe…” she sobbed, turning to Robert. Lois's eyes flashed at Robert, her voice dripping with venom. “Oh, babe?” she scoffed. Robert hesitated, wanting to comfort Ashley by defending her but intimidated by Lois's fury. He took a step back, his eyes locked on Lois's blazing gaze. “Come here, I will hit you over and over again!” Lois yelled. “Lois!!” Lucas said. “Fine! Put me down.” she said calmly. As Lucas dropped her, Lois walked back to the car, a sly smile spreading across her face. “I heard you love luxurious brands,” she said, pulling out around 10 designer bags. Ashley's eyes widened as Lois tossed the bags at her feet. “Prada, Hermes, Gucci, Versace... This is enough of an apology for hitting you, right?” Ashley's gaze fell upon the bags, her eyes sparkling with desire. She had only browsed these brands online, and always dreamed of owning them. The sting on her cheek forgotten, Ashley knelt down, opening each bag with trembling hands. Her eyes feasted on the luxurious contents: designer clothes, shoes, and accessories. Lois smirked, observing Ashley's transformation from anger to awe. “And this car,” Lois continued, gesturing to the sleek Porsche Taycan, “is worth $698 million... until last night, it was all supposed to be yours.” Robert’s eyes widened when he heard the worth of the car. Ashley's head jerked up, her eyes wide with incredulity. “What do you mean?” Lois's smile turned icy. “I was going to give you everything. But now...think about it, do you deserve it?” Ashley's face paled, realization dawning. Lois was not planning to apologize. Lois pulled out an expensive perfume from the items and spilled its contents onto every designer piece. She then took out a cigarette, placed it between her lips, and lit it. Taking two puffs, she tossed the burning cigarette into the bags. “No!” Ashley shrieked, attempting to save the ruined gifts. But the flames spread quickly, fueled by the perfume and designer fabrics. The heat was intense, forcing Ashley to move away from them. “Why would you burn them?!” Ashley yelled, her voice laced with anger. Lois watched, unmoved, as the bags and their contents turned to ashes. “You should have thought of that before you played with Lucas's heart.” “This is what it feels like having something you love taken away from you bitch.” The fire crackled, consuming the luxury brands. Ashley's eyes welled up with tears.
