Chapter 24 Josh slowly made his way up the walkway, relieved that the only light in the house was the lamp in the living room. Sheri always left it on when she went to bed before he came home. After the night he’d had, he had dreaded coming home and having her ask a hundred questions about what had happened. He knew she’d be asking because she cared, but he was exhausted, frustrated, and in pain. He didn’t have the patience for her fawning or waterworks.
