Chapter 12

Summer’s pov The rest of the day was chaotic, i was barely able to walk thanks to how rough Trey was, in his words, he was trying to show i was his. I regretted doing this, I didn't care if we were mates but now we were siblings… step-siblings, I needed to back away from doing anything that could ruin my mother’s marriage, her happiness mattered a lot to me. “Hey!” Audrey's voice echoed behind me, my body froze in shock as I pulled Trey’s jacket tighter around me and turned to her with a small smile. “You didn’t go home?” “I felt a little better.” I replied, thanks to a few unbearably nice rounds from Trey, it was absolute heaven but he was going to roughen me up if we went any further. “I see.” she gave me a once over glance like she knew what I was up to. “Youve been… busy without me lately.” She folded her hands on her chest, her lips curved int a frown. “Thats not true.” I let out a nervous chuckle. “Well I certainly do not know so much about you lately.” she glared. “I will tell you everything about me.” I defended. “How about the fact that you moved?” she dropped the bomb, my heart skipped a beat, how was i going to explain to her that my whole life was nothing more than a mess now. “Well… I was going to tell you.” I stuttered nervously, my eyes looking at anywhere but her eyes. “Really.” she replied flatly. “It happened so sudden .” I defended myself. “My mom just moved my things without prior warning, i just had to accept it even though that wasn't the best time to do so.” “But your boyfriend got to know first huh and i had to find out on my own.” she continued to glare at me. “Find out what?” I was thrown off balance. “You found out I live with Trey Winsor?” “You live with Trey Winsor?” Aubrey gasped in shock. I swooped my hand over her mouth, looking around the hallway catching head turning in our way. “Lower your voice.” I whispered. “You live with the Winsor family?” she whispered. “When were you going to tell me about this?” “Well… it came as a shock to me…” my mind tried to make up something but I was blank, I continued to walk with her by my side, taking her to the more secluded part of the school… the library. “Well turns out our parents are pretty close and my mom wanted me to stay with them while she's on a business trip.” I lied. “Oh my gosh!” she squealed in excitement. “Why the hell am I just getting to know about this?” I remained mute trying to decipher what to actually say to her. “Hey babe.” Ken called, gently tapping her shoulders. She turned around and gently hugged him with the biggest smile while I stared at them dumbfounded. I hid my shock with a timid smile. Ken was the captain of the soccer team and unlike the other guys he seemed to be the chillest , although I couldn't understand how he had gotten along with my friend. Pulling away from him, aubrey turned to look at me. “I’ll text you later and you better have answers to my questions.” She smiled before walking away, her hands twined with that of Ken, how she always managed to get a hold of this guys always baffled me. “Hey cupcake.” I spun around in shock, my eyes settling on Trey who was leaning on the wall, his hands folded on his chest. “How long have you been standing there?” I asked, frowning my lips at him, still feeling the ache between my legs. “We're going home.” His tone sounded cold, even his stare was blank like the jovial nature he had shown towards me had actually faded. For some reason I felt my heart ache but covered it all with a forced smile. “I'll be going with Aubrey.” I started, taking a few steps away from him. “She doesn't know ‘our’ new place does she?” he arched his brows, a slight frown on the corner of his lips. “Get your ass in the car already.” I opened my mouth to decline his offer but one glare at me and I shut up, my chest beating hard like it was due to pop out of my chest. I could only wonder why he was this angry… Did he hate what we did? I knew I wasn't good and experienced but he didn't have to be a total d**k about it. “I’ll order an uber.” I mumbled, dropping my gaze to the =ground, I wouldn't be able to stay in close proximity with him for now or the guilt might actually chew me up. “What did you say?” he stopped and turned around. “What did you say cupcake?” I looked up at him, staring into those cold daring eyes, unable to utter what I had said
