Summer’s Pov
Walking through the hallways I could feel every gaze on me, their eyes boring into me like they were going to burn out my skin for being with the most popular guy in school.
Biting my lower lip I picked my steps, about to take a turn, someone pulled me into the restroom.
I gasped, heart racing and trying to understand what was going on, two familiar feet stood before me, peering my gaze up at, I caught sight of Aubrey glaring down at me, her hand folded over the other as she tapped her foot impatiently.
“Trying to ignore me again?” She rolled her eyes.
I quickly picked myself up. “It’s really not what you think….”
“Oh really? You expect me to believe that? You’re hanging out with the most popular hot guy in school and you didn’t tell me the whole gist?” She threw her hands up in the air. “I really don’t know what type of betrayal this is.”
“There’s nothing going on between Trey and me.” I pointed out that even though a part of me felt like my words were a lie.
“Really?” She eyes me like I had just said the craziest thing ever. “Whatever you saw was…. It was just an accident.”
She blinked, brows twisted in disbelief. “Calling you cute names and kissing you in front of the whole school is an accident?” She scoffed, flipping her hair behind her. “You really aren’t going to tell me huh?”
I smiled. “You know I can’t hide things from you-“
“You already did.” She sighed, walking towards the mirror to adjust her makeup for God knows how many times.
“It was all a coincidence, he asked me out and-“
“He asked you out?” She gasped, turning to look at me, her jaws wide open. “Tell me every single detail girl.” She squealed in excitement, pulling me closer to herself, her eyes focused on me like I was about to reveal the earth’s secret, I won’t blame her, it’s rare for Trey, the hockey team captain to spare any girl a glance, talk more a nerdy girl like me. Outrageous!
I went on to tell her how it happened, of course, excluding the details about me wanting to end myself and him being at my house and the fact that he was my mate and stepbrother.
“Oh my gosh! You’re finally getting what you deserve!” She pulled me into a hug for a split second before letting go of me and jumping around in excitement.
“But…“ I cut short her little celebration, and she arched her brows.
I sighed and looked away. “I don’t want him.”
“What did you say?” She
The door swung open, revealing the devil himself. “Hello, ladies.” He waved, peeking in, I could see a swarm of students around him, waiting for another romantic scene of us both but I hate to be the bummer here, but I wasn’t going to satisfy their cravings today, my little coincidence turned nightmare ended yesterday, I want nothing to do with him again.
He waved his hand at me. “Come here cupcake, we’re going for a spin.”
I didn’t move
Aubrey nudged me by the side, whispering to me. “What are you waiting for?”
I clenched my lips, darting my gaze towards him with a glare, I had clearly told him that I wasn’t going to honor this lie of ours, what more does he want? He could have any girl he wants and here he wants to make my life miserable.
“Are you still angry about the kiss yesterday princess? Don’t worry, I promise to give you more.” He winked, murmurs spread across the students outside and I could feel my face get flushed.
He was messing with me and if I continued to distance myself from him, I could tell he would go ahead to do worse.
Sighing I grudgingly walked towards him. “See? You’re more beautiful when you’re obedient.” He smirked his lips, bowing slightly before taking my hand and placing a gentle kiss on it.
I clenched my free hand, I couldn’t tell if I was shy or embarrassed or scared at the fact that if people discovered we were now step siblings I might lose it.
“Why don’t we go have lunch together?” He offered, I glanced at Aubrey, hoping she would be of help.
She waved her hand, blowing me a kiss and a wink like a mothers sending off her child to be married. Rolling my eyes I turned back to Trey, clenching my jaw I forced a smile. “I told you this was over.” I whispered to him but he didn’t react.
He slung his hand over my shoulder and led me past the flooded hallway, walking towards the cafeteria. I had never seen him come here so this was a surprise, I could see the puzzled glance on the faces of students who were already seated and munching on their meal.
“Why are you doing this? What we’ve done is enough, we need to stop before this becomes a mess.” I warned him, stopping in my tracks and staring up at him.
He sighed, his smirk never fading. “I’m still having fun with you cupcake, don’t push me away just yet.” He tucked my hair behind my ear. “Only I can call the shots.”
I wanted to say something but someone called out to him. “Hey Trey.” Mark, one of his team mates walked towards us, ignoring me, his focus remained on Trey. “Coach sent for us.” He said, glancing at me before trailing his eyes back at Trey. “Right now.”
Trey nodded without a word, Mark turned to leave and I was finally happy that this psycho was going to leave. “See you later princess.”
I rolled my eyes at him. “Tell that to someone else.”
He chuckled, enjoying every bit of torture he was giving to me, he was about to walk away when he stopped and turned to me. “Wait for me before you leave for home.”
“Why?” I stared at him flatly.
He arched his brows, rubbing the back of his hair. “Well, your mom already moved your things to my place so you can’t go back to your home.”
“What?”
