“Good one cupcake.” He patted my head lightly.” His cold countenance returned almost immediately, walking away towards the door, he stopped and turned to look at me. “See you at school girlfriend.” With that, his figure disappeared into the building while I stood there dumbstruck, trying to make sense of what had just happened.
I just agreed to be Trey’s girlfriend?
Fake girlfriend! Still, the thought of the whole school thinking I’m his girlfriend made me nervous.
Texting Aubrey, I made my way back downstairs in search of her, She was also making her way towards me, a look of concern on her face once our gaze met. “What happened?” she spoke over the loud music, her hands reached out to mine, leading me out of the house, I remained quiet unable to face her.
How do I tell her that I was planning on ending my life a few minutes ago? She would be devastated and probably blame herself for it. Once we were outside she stopped and turned to look at me. “Tell me.”
I felt hesitant. “Ashton… he cheated on me.”
She was taken aback. “What?” she fumed with rage. “With whom? How dare he?”
“Let's forget about it, tomorrow is school day and I want to be in the best of moods.” I forced a smile, trying to shrug off the feeling that came with being heart broken.
Sighing she nodded. “I'll drive you home.” she offered, we both walked into the car and got in. i didn't mention the deal I had with Trey because she would literally freak out, Trey was one person in school that wanted to mess with or even think of being in a relationship with.
Getting home, I said a quiet goodbye and got out, walking inside I noticed my mom is home and became even more worried.
She sat on the couch not even sparing me a glance while texting another of her many boyfriends with a smile on her face. “Why isn't there any food prepared for me?” she asked, still not lifting her gaze to see me.
“I went out for a party,” I replied quietly. “I could order a takeout for “
“I don’t need that, who knows what you could do to me! Only if your father were still alive, I wouldn’t have to worry about what to eat when I get back home.” She looked away from her phone and shot her eyes towards me with a glare.
I couldn’t say anything, it was my fault anyway, this was the punishment I had to face because my father….
Driving through the city, my father smiled, taking a glance at me. “Did you enjoy the movie?”
“Of course! We should do this more often.” I chucked with a big smile, revealing my missing front teeth that looked normal for a five-year-old. “Next time we could bring Mummy along.”
“Sure! It’s going to be a splendid family time.” He nodded, looking back at the road when I spotted an ice cream truck, tapping his arm I pointed towards it.
“Daddy I want ice cream, you have to get it for me.”
“Summer we can get that another-“
“No! I want it now!” I cried like a spoiled brat.
“Summer I promise to get it for you later, but i can't stop right now!” He tried to soothe me but I wasn’t in for it. That was when it happened.
Everything came crashing down.
“What are you doing standing there?” My mother’s words jerked me out of my thoughts. I blinked profusely, silently making my way towards my room.
I shut the door behind me and slumped on my bed tiredly, my day was disaster and the gift i wanted to give to Ashton, my hands trailed to my purse but it as empty, i arched my brows in shock wondering how this was possible. I sprung up searching for the gift box but it seemed to have gotten lost.
Shrugging it off, i laid back in bed quietly, thinking about Trey’s offer, i didn't want to be a part of any revenge scheme, i just wanted to be alone, kick off my last year in highschool and attend a university far away from here.
Drenching myself in my thought, i heard an unsettling noise from my window, taking out my airpods i had plugged in earlier to be sure i wasn't hearing things. The noise continued, someone was trying to get into my room.
My heart skipped in fear, I looked around my room for anything that could be used as a tool for self defence. All i could get was a baseball bat, holding it firmly in my hand, i gulped quietly, thankfully my room light was turned off but i could still see clearly due to the street lamps reflection into my room.
“W-who’s there?” I asked with a shaky voice, was I getting robbed? What should I do? I reached out to my phone to call Aubrey and tell her about the situation when the window slid open, a guy in a black outfit jumped in, shutting my window behind and locking it. My body crippled in fear, I could feel my legs shaking as well as my hands.
“Stay down.” He grabbed me and pulled me to the floor looming over me, I was still in shock, this didn't look like a robbery… was he trying to harass me?
“What do you think you're doing?”
“Shhh.” he placed his hands over his lips, telling me to keep quiet, what for. I scrunch my face in confusion, with the little fighting skills i had learned from Aubrey, i held the bat tightly, ready to hit his head as fast as i could and then run out, everything played well perfectly in my head, about to execute it, he grabbed my hand, pinning them down.
“Relax, I'm not doing anything to you, you're not my type.” I could see him roll his eyes, his tone filled with arrogance.
What did this i***t just say to me?
