21When the car pulled up at the bottom of the stairs leading up to Kate’s apartment, Zeke got out and came around to her door. Several neighbors, out for the evening dog walk, gawked as the imposing captain helped her out.
He popped the trunk and pulled out a magnificently made wicker picnic basket. “Your Master had me order Jimmy’s custom seafood basket for your girl Sasha and her friend. It has their crab cake, and shrimp and lobster rolls, and all the other famous specialties.”
Kate waved up at the girls watching them from her front window. She climbed the stairs followed by Zeke, carrying the picnic hamper.
