Arie sat in her small apartment, surrounded by piles of books and notes. She had been working for hours, trying to make sense of the case she was currently working on. But the more she delved into it, the more complicated it became.
She rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on. She decided to take a break and make some tea. As she waited for the water to boil, she looked out the window, watching the raindrops trickle down the glass. She thought about the case and how she was getting nowhere fast.
Arie took a sip of her tea, feeling its warmth spread through her body. She needed to clear her mind and focus on something else. She grabbed a book and started to read, but she found herself re-reading the same page over and over again. She slammed the book shut, frustration evident in the gesture.
She leaned back in her chair, letting out a sigh. It wasn’t just the case that was bothering her, it was everything. She had always been a solitary person, but lately, she felt like she was suffocating. She needed to get out and do something, anything, to shake this feeling of unease.
Arie stood up and put on her coat, grabbing her umbrella on the way out. She decided to take a walk in the rain, to clear her mind and try to find some peace.
As she walked, she found herself drawn to a small park she had never been to before. She sat on a bench, watching the rain and the people as they went about their day. For a moment, she forgot about the case, about her worries, and simply existed in the moment.
But as she sat there, she noticed a young girl sitting alone, crying. Arie felt drawn to her, and approached her hesitantly.
“Are you okay?” Arie asked softly.
The girl looked up, her eyes red and puffy. “I lost my mom,” she said between sobs.
Arie sat down next to the girl, putting a comforting arm around her. She talked to the girl, trying to calm her down, and eventually, the girl stopped crying. Arie walked her home and made sure she was safe before leaving.
As she walked back to her apartment, Arie realized that helping the girl had given her a sense of purpose. She felt like she had made a difference, even if it was just for a moment. It was a small glimmer of hope in an otherwise dark and gloomy day.
Arie went back to her apartment, feeling a little bit better. She still had a lot of work to do on the case, but for now, she was content to just sit and be still. She had found a moment of peace in the midst of her unrest.
