Mr George's POV:
"I Vowed she will never step her foot into this house again. I'm sorry, I can't break that vow" I said and stormed out of the room.
"Honey please, vow can be broken," my wife pleaded and ran after me.
I'm George Paul, a very know man of this town. I have a very beautiful wife and two wonderful children. Well, I have one other child but I don't consider her my child anymore because she's worthless. She brought nothing but shame and disgrace to the family.
Have been out of this country for the past twelve years. I needed to leave. the mockery and shame the worthless child brought to me was just too much. How can my daughter be pregnant for a boy that is nowhere to be found? It was obvious she didn't know who got her pregnant. it's been twelve years since the incident but it's still very fresh on my mind. I vowed she would never step her foot into my house again but since we came back to the country, my wife has been very persistent that we reconcile with her.
"darling, I can't take her back. She's not my daughter. We can't reconcile with her. Never!" I yelled to my wife who held my hands in pleading.
"Honey please, Olivia is still our child. That girl is your blood," she said and squeezed my hands softly.
"I said no. She's nothing but a disappointment. A disgrace and a shame to this family. She rubbed this family name in the mud and made us a laughingstock. I can never forgive her. Never!" I yelled in anger and stormed into the sitting room. She ran after me pleading.
"I understand where you coming from George, but it has been twelve years. Twelve years George. You need to let bygones be bygones. Please" she said with eyes full of tears and knelt.
I pulled her up and placed my hands firmly on her shoulders. "Honey, You know I can't do this. I can't go back on my words."
"Okay fine!" she snapped out. "Since you don't want to take her back as your daughter can we at least invite her over for the family dinner?
I sighed deeply and walked to the wine rack "Just the family dinner and nothing more?" I asked
"Yes, honey just dinner".
"Alright, it's fine you can invite her to come over," I said and took a bottle of wine and a glass from the rack.
"Thank you so much!" she screamed in excitement and hugged me.
"You welcome. But how are you going to contact her?" I asked.
"Don't worry honey. I know how to do my thing," she said.
"Have always known you're a sneak" I replied and poured the wine into the glass.
She giggled and ran her fingers around my head. "Be careful with the alcohol honey, remember what the doctor said".
"A few glasses of wine will not harm". I replied and took a sip of wine.
She shakes her head in disagreement. "Just be careful, okay," she said and cuddled me from behind. "Once again thank you" She kissed me on the cheek and ran out in excitement.
I sighed deeply and I took another sip of wine.
I'm going to see the face of that worthless child again. My only regret is sending those boys to steal her child. I shouldn't have. I would have allowed her to face the hardship of being a mother at such a young age. She should be happy that I helped take away the shame and burden from her by stealing that bastard of a son.
I will make sure I make her feel uncomfortable at the dinner, so she will not step foot into this house again.
Olivia's POV:
Well, let's say today started on a good note. I finally got a call from my mom and that's not all. They are back in the country. she invited me to the family dinner that will be held in the house. She already spoke to Dad about it and he agreed for me to come. I'm super excited I'm finally going to see my family, especially my siblings. I missed them so much. I guess lines are finally falling in place for me. Just when I thought I was a total disappointment, a great Job offer came and now I'm finally going to unite with my family.
Once I have accomplished the plan, I will use the remaining part of the money to establish a business and then I can finally play the role of a big sister to my siblings. I know they missed me so much. But for now, I need to focus on this job.
"Good morning sir" I greeted Mr Cullen as he walked into the office
"Wow, you came back?" he asked in shock.
"Yes sir" I answered with smiles.
"This is strange, so unlike The boss. He wouldn't have ever taken you back. How did you do it?" He asked in curiosity.
"Well, I did nothing. Mr Lucas pleaded on my behalf" I replied.
"Oh, I see," he said and gave me a long gaze. "It's fine. Ask the secretary for the required document and information. It will help you catch up fast".
"Okay, sir".
"Alright!" he snapped out and walked out in haste.
Why is he acting strange? He doesn't look pleased that I'm back. This is unlike the man I met yesterday. Well, maybe he is not in his best mood. I won't stress my pretty head over him. My focus is Liam. I need to get on a good note. That is the only way I can carry out the plans. Maybe I should go to his office and personally apologize to him for my actions the last time. I think that is the only way I can get closer to him.
"Good morning sir" I greeted as I walked into his office.
He gave no response. he just kept staring at me in disgust. I guess the incident from the last meeting was still very fresh on his mind.
"Good morning sir" I greeted again. This time very much louder. "Sir, I came to apologize for what happened the last time. I'm sincerely sorry".
Still, he gave no response. I adjusted my dress and moved a little bit closer to him. As I stood in front of him waiting for his reply the memories of what we once shared just kept flooding in my head. I'm not gonna lie, his still very handsome like he was back then in school. His soft pink lips were still there and they even looked better.
"Nice one," he finally said after a long period of staring and giggling. "Nice one" he repeated and walked towards me giving me a fierce look. "trust me when I say, I will make your stay in this office misery. Trust me" he whispers to my ears.
I couldn't believe my ears. Is he a human or a monster?
Mr Cullen's POV:
"Here is your coffee sir," Lucy said and placed it on my desk.
"Thank you" I replied and took a sip from the coffee.
"Do you want something else sir?" she asked.
Lucy is one of the most trusted staff in the company. Very diligent. She has been working here for a few years and has indicated total loyalty to the company. She is loved by all except Liam.
"Yes, I need you to do a favor for me," I said and took another sip of coffee. She's not only good at her job but also makes good coffee. Her coffee tastes so good just the way I like it.
"Okay sir, what is it?" she asked and moved closer.
"I need you to keep an eye on the boss's new assistant. Watch her every move and if you notice anything fishy don't hesitate to let me know" I whispered.
"Okay sir" she responded and gave me a warm smile. I trust Lucy She's very smart. I know she will do a good Job.
"Thank you" I replied. " You can take your leave now," I said and took another sip of coffee.
"Right sir" she responded and walked out.
The Lucas I know always encourages Liam's bad behavior. He doesn't mean well for his nephew or the company. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. All he wants is to take over everything Liam's late father left for him and is too bad that the young man doesn't seem to notice. Instead his pouring all his rage on his workers.
My suspicions are right. I suspected something fishy when I heard Lucas had helped the boss to hire a new assistant and now he went to plead on her behalf. unlike Lucas. Something is going on. Lucas and That girl Olivia are up to something. I must find out! I concluded and took another sip of coffee.
