Six years ago, I almost died. If it wasn't for Chavez and Summer, my son and I would not have survived this long.
"Please be careful in whatever you do Kiara. Don't let yourself get hurt again," Summer added.
I nodded my head. "I am going to be careful," I promises her.

Although I told Summer I was going to be careful, I could not stop being curious about Chase. I wondered what he had been doing in the six years that I had been away.
Because I didn't want to hurt myself, I didn't try to find out about anything about him or my parents in these past six years.
But I was suddenly curious. I wanted to know what he had been getting up to. He seemed like he had moved on from me just fine.
All through work that day, I could not concentrate. I suddenly had an idea.
