OBAG 1
Fiancé
I was three years old when I learned how to read and write. Five years old when my mother enrolled me to a ballet school. Seven years old when my mother hired a personal teacher to teach me proper manners and etiquettes. Nine years old when my mother told me to learn the piano and violin. Eleven years old when my mother told me to join stage plays.
Thirteen years old when I won the championship of the national fencing competition. Fifteen years old when I won the title of our schools most beautiful woman. Seventeen years old when I successfully launched an art exhibit. Eighteen years old when I graduated college as summa c*m laude. Twenty two when I finished my masterals.
"Kianna, it's alright for you to marry for the convenience and for the merging of our company, right?"
Twenty two years of living in complete perfection and achievements and it's still not enough for them, huh?
I nodded still and slightly. "Of course, Mom. Anything for you and dad. . ."
She slightly curved her lips upward in a composed manner and head her way.
"Good morning, Miss Kianna!" "Iced Americano, less ice, two shots." Wika niya.
Pumasok na kami ng elevator. "What's so good about mornings, Andeng?" I spat.
Ngumiti siya ng malawak. "Bagong umaga, bagong pag-asa!" Napairap ako at napailing.
Oh, what hope can do to people.
"Eight o'clock to will be your meeting with the board. Ten thirty you will be signing the contract of the new faces of Mercado Entertainment. At twelve o'clock you will be having a lunch meeting with Ms. Mendez regarding the M Towers..."
"...At two o'clock in the afternoon you will be flying to Manila for the first meeting with the Kavari's. Then at five o'clock you will personally give Mr. Herrera the gifts-"
"What? Just send it to him!" Putol ko.
"As per orders of Madamé, Miss Kianna..." I stood still. "And lastly, dinner at Reezo's at eight regarding the merging..."
Pumasok na ako sa board room. Everybody stood up the moment I walked in. They greeted me in a polite manner but for all I know they all just want to get in my way. They're being nice because they know that they'll benefit once they get me.
I smirked. Not. A. Chance.
"Meeting adjourned..." I said.
Wala namang bago.
"Yes, dad?" I politely asked.
Inakbayan niya ang katabing lalake. "This is Austin Nepumoceno. A very good friend of mine. Why don't you greet him?"
Humarap ako sa lalake at marahang ngumiti. "Kianna Chantal Mercado, Mr. Nepumoceno. Pleasant to meet you."
Sabi nito at tumawa. "I hope you'll get along well. Your daughter is very beautiful, Russel." Anito kay daddy.
Nagkatawanan sila. "Oh, they'll get along well for sure. Right, Kianna?" Daddy asked.
"Of course, daddy." Tugon ko.
"I'll see you later in dinner, Kianna."
I started walking and I headed back to my car. I started my engine and roared my car as fast as I could. I opened my roof and I started to shout at the top of my lungs.
Perfect daughter my ass. I started to not believe in love when I was thirteen years old. And it was because of them. Or was it? No. I shouldn't blame them, I know.
Emosyon? Oh, f**k you. Emotions will do nothing good for you. It will just ruin you, believe me.
I smiled bitterly when it started to rain. I can close the roof of my car but I chose not to. I felt every drop of the cold and wet rain at the flesh of my bare skin. At least I did not turn all numb, right?
Well, of course, Kianna.
I head back home and fixed myself. I wore a black tight long dress just below my knee and a silver ankle strap heels. I stared into my reflection. And sighed.
I never really wanted my snow white pale skin. But every time I try to get tanned, namumula lamang ako. My face is small and is heart shaped which I hate. I have dark brown round almond eyes.
I pouted my red and pouty lips. Oh, well, kung may isa man akong nagustuhan sa features ko iyon ay ang mga labi ko. It's full and luscious. I parted my long black straight hair in the middle at hinayaang naka lugay sa aking likod.
I stood up and grabbed my silver purse when I heard a maid knock and called me to come down.
Mommy smiled when she saw me.
"Let's go?" I asked.
I felt blank and stolid while we're on our way to Reezo's cuisine. Mommy was orienting me what to do and what not to do infront of the Nepumoceno's and all I could ever do was to follow. Daddy on the other hand was talking with someone on his phone regarding business.
"We're here! Remember what I told you, Kianna. Don't embarass us, okay?"
"Yes, mommy." I said.
Group of noble men are flocking their eyes on me and are shamelessly checking me out from head to toe while we were walking towards the VIP section. I walked with poise and grace, shifting every step with class and power.
The waiter opened the VIP room and the Nepumoceno's welcomed my eyes. Mommy and Daddy greeted Mr. And Mrs. Nepumoceno. I politely showed them my respect too. At the corner of my eyes I saw a lady who's almost my age.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Kianna!"
I slightly smiled. "It's my pleasure, Mrs. Nepumoceno..."
Kumunot ang noo niya. "Just call me, Tita Maddisson." Wika niya at muling ngumiti.
She must be their daughter. She looked really pretty and regal. She have shoulder length and wavy black hair. Her skin is golden tanned, have round almond black eyes and pink pouty lips. Mahahaba ang pilikmata at matangos ang ilong.
"This is my daughter, Tallulah." Tita Maddisson, said. She smiled with confidence and grace. She also greeted my parents.
We all looked at the door when it opened. With brows furrowed, eyes immediately directly at me, agad akong kinabahan.
He's wearing a black polo, naka tupi ang cuffs hanggang siko. Tamang yakap ito sa kanyang katawan, defining the lines of his muscles from his arms down to his torso. His dark maong pants hung lazily on his belt, and the topsider completed his whole look.
Sporting a a deep frown, and eyes hard, and ruthless, ay hind ko siya kayang titigan.
He looked arrogant, ruthless and violent.
"Finally!" Tita Maddisson said.
All of him... I mean all of him... is screaming of force and power. Even his voice.
"Russel Mercado and my wife, Lissa Mercado."
Tumingin ito sa akin. His lips pursed. He looks amused with something pero kapag tinitignan ang mga mata niya ay mukhang mapanganib.
"Oh! This is our daughter, Kianna Chantal Mercado."
I was sitting across him and I feel so uncomfortable. He will look at me every now and then and I would uncomfortably shift my sit.
Daddy and Tito is talking about buisness. Leaving me all alone with this dangerous man, right here, which is my fiance.
He's looking at me intently while slightly touching his lips with his knuckles. Hindi nakakapagtagal ang titig ko sa kanya. He's too viscous!
"How old... are you?" He asked with his deep and rough voice.
I was raised by my mother to be soft-spoken, demure, calm and reserved. Walang bago at naiba. Ngayon lamang.
"Twenty-two... Ikaw?"
I cursed myself inside my head when I asked him back. I shouldn't have. I should never ask anything, mag mumukha lamang akong interesado.
His veins in his arms looked stressed without even trying.
He looked really strong, masculine and too viscous for my liking.
"Thirty one," seryoso nitong sabi habang ineexamina ako.
I can almost smell and feel his breath in my ears.
"Let's get along well, little girl..."
He brushed my chin using his thumb. "I have a few rules, little girl. Now that you're my fianćee, you're not allowed to see any other boys, more so, flirt with them... Well, that's just basic rules, the rest, I'll tell you later..."
Kumunot ang noo ko. "And who are you to tell me what to do?" Inis kong sabi.
He smirked. "I'm your fiance, soon to be husband... and don't forget that I own you now. . . Kianna Chantal. . ."
