I was at the doorway of my room to go out when I heard Lennox’s laughter downstairs. They were teasing Mena so she was crying while he and Rico were laughing so hard. I leaned first on the door frame and listened to their laughter. I was staring blankly while thinking.
Should I talk to him and stop him from coming here? If I did that, wasn’t that unfair? But the thing is, he’s gotten too close to my family. If ever something happened, or if he suddenly stopped coming here, I didn’t want the kids to get involved and be hurt when they would look for his presence and he wasn’t there.
“He’s been here for a while. He arrived early when you were still asleep, so I didn’t wake you up.”
