SOPHIA’S POV I drove us back to my parents’ home. When we pulled up in front of the house, I let out a deep breath. I was finally home again. As soon as I stepped in, my mother rushed toward me. “Sophia! You’re finally here!” She hugged me tightly. My father appeared behind her, grinning through his beard. My brother popped his head from the kitchen. “Look who decided to show up,” he teased. It felt good. I felt safe. We sat around the table, eating and laughing. Then my father pointed his spoon at me dramatically. “Now that you’re single again, Sophia, we can finally introduce you to-” “Dad!” I groaned, laughing. He wiggled his eyebrows. “What? A strong she-wolf like you needs a worthy mate.” My mother smacked him with a napkin. “Let her breathe, honey!”
