I took another swig of whiskey straight from the bottle, feeling the warm burn in my throat. I knew I shouldn't be drinking alone, but I couldn't bring myself to call anyone. Not after what I had just read. The letter from Dreamer lay crumpled on the table in front of me, the words still fresh in my mind. "You're a coward," he had written. "You don't deserve Jasmine." I couldn't believe it. Dreamer was supposed to be my friend, but here he was, tearing me down in the cruelest way possible. And he was right. I was a coward.
