I woke up gasping for air, my heart pounding in my chest. I tried to calm myself down, but the fear and panic were still lingering, refusing to let go of me. I looked around the room, and for a moment, I didn't recognize where I was. It took me a few seconds to remember that I was alone in my apartment. I closed my eyes and tried to shake off the nightmare, but it was too vivid, too real. In my dream, I was back in my apartment, alone and vulnerable. The stalker had somehow managed to break into my home, and I could hear his footsteps getting closer and closer. I had tried to hide, but he had found me. And then... I shuddered at the memory.
