Chapter 7Theoretically morning had happened when Theo next opened his eyes, though he wasn’t certain this hour properly existed; he hadn’t awakened this early even when he’d been in actual classes as a student. He also wasn’t sure why he’d awakened. He lay on his sofa, which also did not know the answer, and tried to sort it all out. There were birds tweeting in the trees around the College, yes, but the sounds were not yet amplified by the spell he’d set up in order to wake him with their pleasant tunes.
