So Theo kept looking. Kept searching. Hoping. He got up a few times to retrieve another book to add to their pile. For someone who’d not spent much time with books, Henry had squared up to the task; Theo guessed, though, that reading and composing intelligence reports and battlefield codes had provided a good working knowledge of how to sift through information. They read quietly, occasionally making notes, or mentioning a suggestion. Theo had library archives, comfortable chairs, a handsome gentleman, no need for small talk, reading together.
